We've got wind!!

It's the same here, with driving rain & has been all day. Just driven back from a resto, conditions stopped me driving the speed limit & just as well, as I narrowly missed branches that had be blown across onto the main dual carriageway. Loads down in the lanes too. Will it ever stop? !!

Well its still very wet and very windy, haven't checked for any damage yet, but I have heard of one shop window in town being blown out by the wind. Feel sorry for the children walking to school in this. My son the stupid boy turned down a lift home yesterday. He was drenched, he said it felt like stones hitting him the rain and wind was that heavy and strong.

Going by the forecast the terrible weather is set to stay for a while across the whole country. Stay safe everyone

More heavy rain overnight last night, and 2 more big blows coming our way, first one this evening, and the next Saturday overnight. I'm getting a mite fed up with the constant background of moving air now, and it's beginning to get me down. Please could we have a week of clear skies and high pressure - thanks!

The sun is shining for a change

However we know what is about to hit us. My sons Explorer camp has been cancelled, the scout hut roof has lost tiles and cubs had to be cancelled this week. Beavers was interesting with electric on and off.

Time to make sure nothing loose in the garden that could do some damage.

now for fun ,on FB part of our Town is without mains water due to a burst pipe ,not so worried with the wind and rain,if many have forgotten ,it did this for nearly a whole year in 2001-- rain-windy-cloudy,not 100% but think that yr was the whole 2 week summer ......

Be more worried if what hitting the States and Canada shifts this way afterwards!!!

andy01424 stayed near Lake Huron once, strange seeing external doors on the second floor of houses and snow mobiles in the gardens whilst we travelled around Ontario. There was still snow on the groud mid May in Northern Ontario.

We have lots of wind as I am living in the most easterly point in the U.K...........strange, cos it has followed me to Goa, but that could be caused by the same problem as yours, Rommers.

It was the same here, until 1pm, then back came the torrential rain & gales.

Hope all you guys on the South West stay safe.
What our weather does here is of no importance, you guys are getting hit hard, and every extra bit of rain and wind is going to add to the problems.
I was there over xmas and saw it first hand.
