What kind of atomiser are you using? Does it work on a different mod?

Either on a regulated mod (svd, vamo etc) that has resistance checker or on a dedicated resistance meter or with a multimeter (set to 200 ohms, red lead to 510 pin of the atty and black lead to threaded part of the atty 510 connector)

How do I test the coil? Just the mod itself with the battery in it, the battery isn't overheating, when I attach the atty it overheats So therefore you can conclude the mod is fine and the problem is your atty. you can test atty with a resistance box or a multimeter

There's a short in it somewhere. Try it witha new coil and also check the positive pin in the bottom is insulated from the rest of the atomiser

Kangertech Aero Tank (airflow control) I'd guess the coil head is shorting, got any spare heads to try ?

At the very least you should have an ohm meter for testing coils and better a multimeter. Shorts in amech mod can cause a thermal reaction in your battery which can lead to it venting toxic fumes and in e worst case fires. While this is unlikely with IMR batteries it is not completely impossible.

2 sounds good, 6.7 does not. Take the top part of your mod off and screw your atty on then test between the positive pin that would connect to your battery and the outer threads of the head. What reading do you get now ?

00.0 (with the coil thats giving me 2.00) This is the problem, you have a dead short and when connecting your battery your shorting out the battery, not good and dangerous. Im not familiar with the aerotank heads but I believe their similar construction to the protank 2 only dual coil. The likely short is because the coil lead legs at the base of the head are a little long and are shorting out. Take the coil head back out of the atty and see if you can see any wires poking out by the white rubber grommet in the base of the coil head. Cut these as short as possible then test again until you get 2 ohms on your meter. Then your good to go. Don't connect to the battery if your getting zero ohms.
