Posted this in another thread a few days ago but this might have been what was causing the short mate. Check the bottom of your aerotank and make sure the pin is central with space all around it, like this..(best to always do that before screwing onto a mech mod) A couple of times I've screwed the coil-unit in too far and it's pushed the pin out a little bit, and it's touched the side giving a short, like this.

Dopey - not quite sure why you're sending the tank back to Jason, as the cause of your problems has been clearly identified above. I can also see that the wires are too long, and as a Protank (same type of atomiser head) recoiler I have encountered that before myself. Snip the wires off as close as you can to the head, pop it back in to test the resistance, and you will be good to go. It will save all the hassle of sending the tank back and waiting for a replacement, and you could be vaping in 2 minutes. Sure, it's good of Jason to offer to help like this, but all completely unnecessary IMHO

I am NOT ungrateful for everyone's help, I bought it as a kit, with the 2 coils in the kit, this is my first time using a mod, if the wires are not right, then thats no fault of mine, its a manufacturing fault (if it is the wires) I dont feel comfortable using something that is shorting out, and heating the battery's up, they are (as pointed out) dangerous to use like that, if it wasn't a dangerous thing, and a fix that they was OK to do without risk, then I would have done it... at the end of the day thats why we get things with a warranty on them, so if there's any problems we can send them back without risking blowing battery's up, while your holding them in your hand and up to your face, I honestly thanks you guys for helping me out, but I dont want to take the risk, hope you understand why?? thanks everyone

Dopey You are quite right - whether a novice or and experienced vaper, if a brand new item is not working out of the box you should not be expected to fix it yourself. That is why we buy from vendors such as Vape Escape who stand over their products. Please don't be put off asking questions or for help as I'm sure I speak for the majority when I say that helping each other is one of the main purposes of the forum.

Dopey don't throw that away. Keep all the bits because once you know how it works you can rebuild those coils for a fraction of the cost of new ones. Don't give up on it. You'll get there yet

Well I think it's time for you to take up Jason's very kind offer. Hope you're all sorted soon.

Dopey think Greg was talking about this Normally you have to look really closely (or in my case use a magnifying glass) to see where the coil wires come out because they've been snapped off straight & as flush as possible to the body. A good tip before you fit any new coils, or even if your checking something straight out of the box, is to run your finger around this bottom grommet & you shouldn't be able to feel where the wires terminate, if you can & only you feel able, snip of any excess with a sharp pair of nail clippers, if not then do as you did & go back to the vendor. Another tip especially if you can measure the resistance & it's a lot higher then you expect or hopping around all over the place, is too make sure the coil unit is screwed tightly into the base. Sometimes with factory heads if the coil isn't screwed in tight & the coil posi pin is only just brushing the battery posi pin you won't get a clean reading, it's slightly less likely with bottom coils but it can happen but I don't think this was your problem anyway. It would be nice if everything worked 100% of the time from new but when something is being manufactured in the 100,000s if not millions there's never going to be a 100% success rate. That's is not meant as an excuse btw & I know is not much consolation if you've got the dud but that's were good vendors come in & luckily you bought from one
