This has been an interesting read, the route to getting a good setup is so different for each of us I quite like the faffing with the wool filler, topping up etc, I have 3 dual coils that never hit the spot for me, but intend to try them again at some point. Its also interesting how things have different names from different suppliers, I am still getting my head around that.

Each to their own I guess. One of the things that made me hesitate whilst researching was the amount of faffing involved - perhaps that is limiting the number of converts..
I like things to simple and ready to go with the minimum of faffing - it's a lifestyle thing.

It took me ages to progress from the 'faff' of carts Chillax . . . like you, it never bothered me and infact replaced the sparking up ritual . . . eventually I got some drip tips and dripping is my personal favourite method of vaping. I've got Carto's/Arry Tanks etc which are useful for work and driving . . . but still come back to dripping when at home. Anything to do with Caramel, I love . . . so it's a foregone conclusion with me & Caramac's.

Big test coming up, I have to go away for a few days. Here's my away from home kit - I travel light Two preloaded cartomisers, four preloaded cartridges, spare battery, atomiser, tweezers, two bottles e-juice. Also taking my mains charger and USB dongle, but not the pass through. Hopefully, it should be enough...

I tried dripping for the first time yesterday, I really like it, but I am a little worried that I will run the atty dry, I need more confidence, I did it with. 901 atty and just used the carto as a drip tip, what atty do you use? How many drips do you put in and how many drags do you get? I know it will prob depend on the type and length of drag but just something for me to have an idea coz as you say its really nice :-)

3 drops is usually a good guideline Chillax. You shouldn't run the atty dry because you will taste it, providing you aren't taking massive inhales - in which case you will know about it, if it runs dry

As Jason says, about 3 drops gives a good few puffs Chillax . . . and you'll soon know if it's running dry, I always suggest using a transparent drip tip so as you can see how much liquid you're dripping. I use both 901's & 510's for dripping . . . but you get more flavour with a 901 and it's a gentler vape. But, I like the Smokeymizer's well, depends upon what sort of mood I'm in as to what I use really.

Thanks all for your advice I will have a few more goes, I think some flavours just taste better using different methods, and dripping is one that I found did make the flavour better, I like the smokeys but prefer the clearo ultimate, I love the warmth of the vape only thing is they don't hold much, must get around to trying the ordinary clearo's to see if they are the same You have all been so helpful once again

Well, my counter says 28 days, so I should update a bit.
My going away setup was fine, only once did I need to swap cartos on the go, and only once was I caught out by a flat battery. Which is good, as a major problem is the amount of kit you need to have around to vape.
I'm now a confirmed carto user - haven't used a cartridge for two weeks. However, I'm still on the odd analogue each day - vaping still doesn't hit that spot every time, and sometimes I get fed up of that cold chemical taste of vapour. That being said, I don't finish many of them , I usually chuck them away half-smoked.
On the whole, I'm still feeling more energetic, less fagged out.
Stocked up on RY4 and a new bunch of PG/VG flavours, so maybe that will egg me on to drop the analogues...

Sounds like you are doing so well Dom IMHO, even just cutting down so drastically is a fantastic achievement

But Christmas is coming, and I may treat myself to an Iolite - I know it's still using baccy, but at least I won't be setting fire to it.
