Dipping a toe in the water

I suppose I should give some useful updates too

Firstly, new flavours came in - more RY4, some tobacco types:

Desert Ship
7 leaves
Cuban supreme (supposedly cigar?)

and fruity:

pomegranate
grape

The pomegranate is quite nice, though imo only a passing resemblance
to the eponymous fruit. Also, a bit string for me, and it has a tendency
to contaminate a carto for two or there fills, so this one really needs it's
own dedicated carto. (live and learn).

That said, it's quite ok.

However, it kind of interefered with taste testing the others, so I won't pass
judgement on those yet.

Meanwhile, I've been very happy with my switch to cartos - well filled and settled
in a good one can last well over half a day without need of a top up, and gives me a
satisfying few hours of vaping.

Two have gone 'bad'. One seemed to go almost straight away - basically very wimpy
amount of vapour being produced. Don't know why, so will probably do a post-mortem
on that one.
The other has a nasty burned taste - which goes when freshly full, but returns after a
short amount of vaping. I'm thinking maybe the wadding has burned a biut, and it might be recovered with a clean out - so I'll give that a go.

So down to three working ones after just over three weeks (?), which isn't bad.
Got another box on order, and some Kanger bottom coil ones for comparison - which
should keep me going till nearly Xmas.

You are doign well Dom, and a lot braver than me when it comes to flavours. After vapefest I'm quite scared to taste anythign new cos it all seems to remind me off River not telling me it was 5V and coffee lol

I have tried the free samples I've been gettign from paradise vapes, and if you fancy a bit of lime I think his is rather nice, bit like a lime starburst

I wish my cartos lasted me half a day lol only time they last that long is when I sleep make sure you keep them as wet as a wet thing in a flood though, that can account for the buring taste, and sometimes once that happens it will always eb there in the background

Hmmm, I've been tempted by lime - next time I guess.

I think what I did was let it dry out too much - hence the burning.
So it seems I'll never get rid of it, in which case it's heading for the bin
and being put down to experience.

It pains me to bin stuff, not because I'm tight about the cost (though I am ),
it's just such a waste of resources...one of my bugbears about the e-cig
game is the amount of highly manufactured stuff that is disposable
(attys, cartos, eventuallly batteries). Hopefully the technology will evolve
to be a bit more eco-freindly over time.

It certainly sounds like the carto was a bit on the dry side when you used it Dom . . . as Jem says, they need to be kept just the right side of flooded to work at their best . . . hope you like the Kanger's, I think they're great carto's.

You might at some point in the future like to consider a Rebuildable Atomiser, if you're of a technical persuasion . . . other than a little wire/wick that you use for making the coils, the waste is absolutely minimal with these systems.

Well, yeah, but I's have to buy the mod to go with it

I quite like the idea in the Rok Star with it's tank and wicked
atty. Lot's less waste there, but a distinct lack of compatibility
with the other devices around.

Things are certainly moving in the right direction though...

There's Christmas coming up Dom . . . and as I've said to our Raggy, us ladies do struggle ( well I do ) to find gents a present that they actually would like and use . . . within a realistic budget.

November is the 'hint' season I always think.

Well, semi-serious since my birthday is also in December,
you can end up with a lot of stuff you didn't want...

BTW the Kangers - they do make a lot of vapour!
This needs filling up a bit more frequently - thus far, the
taste doesn't seem as strong with the Boges, but I'll have
to a direct head to head with two box-fresh ones and the same juice.
