Just trying a LR CE3 Smokymizer for the first time and I've had issues with leaking - is this normal? I filled it up using the recommended method (bit faffy) and left an air bubble in there before sticking the little black plug back in the hole but whan I vape juice seems to collect at the top (just below the drip tip) quite rapidly. Have pushed the plug down as far as it'll go but it's still happening. At one point I gave it a strong suck and suddenly had juice all over my hand and all over the battery, thankfully that's only happened the once but I'm constantly using tissue to mop up the excess (wasted > ) juice. Something else I've noticed is that the flavour has improved now that about half the juice is used (either vaped or leaked ) which is good but initially there was very little taste at all - all the same taste is better with the LR Boges I've been using recently. Has anyone else had similar experiences, have I done something wrong or is this normal with these?

You've not done anything wrong as such Rog. When you have filled it and put the little black plug back in - blow through it onto a tissue to get rid of any juice in the centre tube. The liquid in the top is mostly condensation and it does need emptying or dabbing every now and then. Each time you refill, place the plastic condom on the battery end to create the vacuum, otherwise it will leak whilst filling. Refill it slowly and with it held at an angle of 45 degrees (this allows the air to escape out of the same hole that you have the syringe in). Oh...and don't suck too hard

They aren't by any chance cracked on the side of the battery?

Thanks Jason, I'll bear all that in mind. One thing I didn't do was the blowing bit, will remember next time though.
bioxx, not that I can see, the juice that leaked onto my hand leaked at the battery end as far as I could make out.

Amazingly I've been doing it right . . . giving the Smokeymizer that Clutty kindly sent me to try, a little blow through the centre tube.
But I do find, as with all 'Tank' systems that I've so far tried, that the juice flavour doesn't really come through until I get about half way through the filled amount, so you're not alone there Rog.

I had exactly the same issue from last Friday since I only got my first batch to try...
I ended up with an empty Smokeymiser and my ProVari and hands covered in my precious Golden Burginia...!!!
Thought there was something wrong with them at first but now it seems that I was just doing it wrong!
These things are great BTW...!!! Plenty of flavour and Throathit...
Later...

With these smokymizers when filling them you need to not completely block the filling hole with the syringe because all you end up doing is forcing juice through the tubes, make sure the air from the tube can escape around the outside of the needle and fill them slowly. Any juice in the tube will be forced up end up sitting below the drip tip.

Yeah perpetua, I'm finding similar with the taste getting much better once I've vaped half of the juice away, not sure if that's something to do with new smokymizers or just going to be the case every time I fill. clutter, hopefully with use the flavour of the first half will improve for me too rav, strife is all part of the 'fun' ... at least for us 'geeks' MIDIManNI, ouch sounds messy! Have filled it up a second time very carefully and that was okay, although lots more wastage of juice than with a Boge cart. The biggest downsize for me so far is the faff, it really is a very faffy business so I can't imagine using these out and about - the Boges are far more suitable for that despite not holding as much juice. Once through the hassles though I agree there's plenty of flavour and throat hit. blakey, thanks for that info I think I might have blocked the hole a bit with the syringe on the second fill, certainly pushed a bit of juice through into the condom. Other than that though it was much better than the first fill and less mess.

Have you read this part of TW's description, dunno if I'd risk it
Although we believe the CE3 Smokymizers to be a great product concept, there have been a small number of reported incidents where the Smokymiser is believed to have been responsible for the shorting of a tornado battery. To address this matter, we are liaising with the manufacturers to isolate any design flaws and selling our remaining stock at a 50% discount. Please be aware we can offer no warranty on the Smokymizers at this current discounted price nor any related affects when used in conjunction with your device.

A point well made but I have never had one of these things go wrong yet and I have 5 on the go at the mo. After reading about this a while back I decided to first use them on the don with an old battery before I tried them on anything else. I use them for work. I would be much happier with the buds but I cant be done with that damn whistle tip I did fashion a drip tip holder out of part whistle tip and part dual coil which looks great but a lot of fuss to make and I therefore only have one. So i'm quite happy to chance it with the smokymizer alongside the dual coils but the main all day vape will go in that rta. Should I ever have one cause any damage i'll be sure to let everyone know what happened and from where I got it

Have to say, they are the nicest new widget I've tried in a long time. . . although maybe I wouldn't have tried it on the Provari first, had I known about TW's caution.

I would say that providing your Provari short circuit protection is in order, it would be the safest way to test one.
I'm actually thinking about pre-testing all Smokymizers before they go out now, but it will mean taking them out of those foil packets, so I'm not sure how people will react to that ???
