100% VG does not need to be kept in freezer, and there is no reason to stock up on VG as will always be widely available as used in so many products, foods, health, and industrial products. Same with 100% PG. Ideally store in glass bottles long term though. Only nic base needs to be frozen.

would make life a lot easier if we could communicate with these Chinkies. wow, did we just slip through a time warp back to the 1970's? I'm not Chinese but I'm fairly sure we have Chinese members on the forum who will find that pretty offensive.

toots, not sure why you are ordering VG from abroad. I spend half a year at a time in Fuerteventura, and VG is readily available in Litre bottles from chemists there for about Euros 7 if I remember rightly. Can't get PG though or nic base.

It wasn't meant to be offensive, we call the Chinese shops over here chinkies, we say things like "did you get that from the chinky" If I've upset any Chinese members then I'm sorry, did not mean to

To be honest I threw in the litre of VG with the USA order coz I thought might as well get it all together at the same time from the same place, so in the cart it went. I have asked over here about VG in a couple of pharmacies and they just look at me blank, don't seem to know what I'm talking about. Next time I'll take an empty bottle with me and ask if they can get me some. It's definitely not readily available by being on the shelves, I've looked around for it, well at least not in the pharmacies I've looked in. Maybe Fuerteventura is different and they have a demand for stocking it for some reason. Would be great if I could buy it over here though obviously.

Does it sammy, I don't drink so I wouldn't know and hubby tends to drink draft beer or bottles of Dorada, which I think has got those tops that you have to take off with a bottle opener. Going to look around next week to see what I can get in the supermarkets. I'm sure he wouldn't mind emptying the bottles I buy

toots, believe me Fuerteventura is well behind the times compared with Tenerife. But in Fue, you only find the small 100ml bottles on the farmacia shelves - sometimes - but when asked they usually have 1 litre bottles behind the counter.

emmita I passed a pharmacy whilst out today, unfortunately I did not have a bottle of VG with me, anyway I popped in and asked if they stocked or could get some VG. He didn't have a clue what I was talking about so I wrote it down for him, both in English & Spanish. He phoned their supplier who said they did not stock it. The pharmacist also asked me what it was used for - well, I didn't have a clue other than for mixing up e-liquid for e-cigarettes, so it might be an idea if I knew what else it was used for, so if anyone can tell me so that I can rattle of other uses for it, it just might help. I also told the pharmacist that it was available in Fuerteventura so it should be available here in Tenerife as well, and that if he could source it for me I would regularly buy it from his pharmacy. Jeeze you wouldn't think it would be so hard to get VG here would you!!!!

toots - just explain to him that champagne has bubbles in it and that was what the made the bottle explode ( don't know if that is the real physical explanation - but it sounds good ) pg -vg and nic base have no bubbles - hence no explosion - specially not if you don't fill them to the top

Forgot to report on this but I got myself 6 dark coloured bottles by buying some Rioja red wine in 18.7cl sizes (whatever that works out in mls, don't know till hubby has drunk one of them) and don't laugh but I also found 2 x 285ml clear glass bottles of vinegar (at only 90 cents per bottle) which I thought I could use for the VG, there was only 2 left hence only bought 2, otherwise I would have got 4 of them, they was on special offer so grabbed 'em quick. I saw some small green glass bottles with lime juice in which I thought was rather good, but didn't know what I would use the juice for so didn't bother getting them. It's amazing what you can find in smallish glass bottles when you actually look around. Also saw some Daddies brown sauce in small clear glass bottles as well, in the English shop, but they were a bit pricey. My nic base & VG has arrived in Spain now, and says it'll be on its way to the island pending customs clearance, so with a bit of luck the package could be here either tomorrow or Wednesday that's if customs release it

Vegetable Glycerine is also used in cosmetic and aromatherapy products toots, here's a piece from the net: Glycerin is widely used in the food industry for two main reasons: it has a sweet taste, but has fewer calories than sugar; and it is hygroscopic, that is, it absorbs moisture from the air. It is therefore used both to sweeten foods and to keep them moist. The compound is metabolized more slowly than sucrose — the type of sugar most commonly found in candy and in processed foods — and therefore does not have such a dramatic effect on blood sugar levels. It also does not contribute to bacterial tooth decay. Foods marketed as being low in carbohydrates are often sweetened with glycerin.
Another major use is in the cosmetics industry. Due to its hygroscopic properties, it is used in many moisturizing skin products, as it seems to help relieve dry skin problems by drawing water up from the lower layers. It is also a component of glycerin soap, which is often used by people with sensitive skin. Lotions containing this compound are also popular.
Vegetable glycerin can be used as a substitute for ethanol — the chemical commonly called “alcohol” — in making botanical extracts, such as herbal essences. It acts as a solvent that dissolves the substances of interest from the raw plant material. The advantage of this is that people who do not want to be exposed to alcohol can still have access to the botanical products. The disadvantage is that the resulting products have a much shorter shelf life.
There are also medical uses for vegetable glycerin. It is a common ingredient in cough mixtures, due to its soothing properties. Other applications are as a topical remedy for a number of skin problems, including psoriasis, rashes, burns, bedsores and cuts; as a laxative, in the form of suppositories; and to treat gum disease, as it inactivates the associated bacterial colonies.

Sunburn, perhaps you could say that toots? For when you family come over? One of them always gets burnt, one has psoriasis, one gets a heat rash, and one needs laxatives, so you thought you could solve all their ailments by buying 3 litre of vg.
