I stopped smoking 2 years ago and started vaping around 3 months ago. I have found that the PG gives me flushing and headaches but I don't get this with the VG. But, I am getting more and more tired. To start with, this was a good thing. I had only been sleeping 4 hours a night and was suffering badly with insomnia (on no cigarettes or vaping), so when the vaping made me sleep I was pleased, but now, I am tired all the time and sleeping loads. Also, I have had two days of feeling really dizzy. I am now hooked on nicotine again, so don't want to give up the E cigs and haven't touched a real cigarette in 2 years. Could this be the flavouring in the E liquid do you think? I am on 100% 18mg VG liquid from Puffin. Has anyone any idea what ingredients are used in the flavourings in these E liquids?
Not sure where to go from here, is there anywhere to get pure nicotine and VG and no added flavouring (or would that taste rubbish).
Any help appreciated.

would lower your nicotine for a start, if you haven't smoked for 2 years then go on ot 18mg after being of nicotine for so long then there's bound to be some affects,

Hi It is very easy to get flavourless e-liquid, any vendor that sells diy mixing essentials will sell vg with nothing except nicotine added. I have not tried vaping it without flavour, but I imagine it is more boring than unpleasant. Personally I have experienced quite a few flavours which do not agree with me, happily there are a lot more that do. There are a great many flavours available, and trial and error is the only way to find which ones suit you. Many flavours contain sweetners, and my personal trial and error suggests that one of them does not agree with me. Which one is hard to define as it is unfortunately difficult to get specific details on many flavours You could easily try vaping flavourless, to see if this changes your experience. If it improves things, then you can continue in this manner, or begin to try flavours one at a time, until you find one that does not produce a negative reaction, knowing that the flavour is definitely the culprit. 18mg is too high nicotine for me, and I would get a headache from it fairly rapidly. It may be worth trying 12 or even lower and seeing if this has an effect. If you buy 18mg vg eliquid and 0mg vg eliquid, experimenting to find a level that suited you would be easy and cheap Some people seem to be more sensitive than others, I think it is a very good idea to listen to your body, especially since so many options are available.

Karma is right, it could be an underlying illness and possibly nothing to do with vaping at all. I would advise seeing your doctor.

Thanks for the replies. I will try getting the unflavoured liquid in a lower nicotine strength and see if my symptoms ease off. If that works, then I will experiment with different flavours. Seems the best way to go.
Thanks again for the advice.

The GP is always a good idea. You have the symptoms of a nicotine overdose, which would clear out of your system in a day or two if you stop inhaling it. Instead of going out and buying more liquid, just dilute the one you have with water, or pg-vg with no nicotine.

Go see your GP, you could just be lacking something very simple like Iron and Vitamin B12.

I agree going to the doc is a good idea but 18mg? That sounds a hell of a strength after none for 2 years. Do you remember when you started smoking? How it made you dizzy sometimes? I would do as Steve says and reduce the nic strength, probably quite a bit too, maybe something like 6mg or that.
I must admit though, I'm a bit confused as to why you got juice with any nic in it at all to start with? Were you getting crazy cravings?

Thanks everyone. I am going to go over the Dr. to get tested for PG allergy. I started on E cigs after nearly 2 years of no smoking as I was always so stressed. My stress levels never got down to what they were when I smoked, I mean, after nearly 2 years whenever a stressful event came along I would be at screaming point, wasn't nice to be around and wasn't happy. The moment I had nicotine again, I was a lot lot calmer and could cope. I would happily vape forever if I could have no side effects. I don't think its a medical problem (I have lots of health problems) and I do get B12 jabs regularly. I feel the dizziness and sleepiness is associated with the E cigs. Checked out the net and there are others with the same problems, but no clear answers. I never had a problem with munching on the nicotine lozenges when I first gave up the cigs. I used to get the brief dizziness if I ate too many, but not waking up next day and feeling off balance all day nor the sleepiness.

The PG one is common and it also gave my wife bad headaches, she's since been fine with VG but another thing I learned along the way is that flavouring can be an issue, certain ones or types just don't agree with some people.
The guy at joosejuice was great, he sent us a few different samples to try and narrow down the problem, really helpful.
I did discover that it's really hard to get rid of a coffee flavour out an atty lol.
