Thanks guys. I'm so peed off and upset, I want to hide under the duvet and tell the world to sod off. Still not got phone or internet sorted either. The nuties still say my new home doesn't exist. If that's the case, how come when I went on the DVLA website to change my driving licence address, their system found it immediately.

Blownupdolly Totally agree with this, the stress of moving & poppet being more willing to explore means she probably got 'new home' smells on her that minky wouldn't recognise. If one of mine had to go to vet for anything you can bet your ass that the others wouldn't have anything to do with them & yes there would probably be physical ructions too if I couldn't create some space between them. It would usually take a couple of days to get the equilibrium back. Could you not ask them to hang on for a couple of days & let them get properly settled & even get some of the feliway, they do a spray as well (although you don't spray it on the cat) & take it round. Also if you've got any old blankets that they both shared take that & rub it over both cats. A really good catnip toy might also help take their minds of each other & their new surroundings. I'm pretty certain given half a chance they'll soon settle down again.

Blownupdolly - so sorry. Cats are very susceptible to stress - I had one who weed (weeed?) in all sorts of inappropriate places (like my bed) when I moved her to Wales; it takes a bit of time but they usually do adapt and settle down. I suspect that Minky took out her frustration on Poppet because she was the only point of reference that was available - both will survive this if given time to do so. I've also heard good things about Feliway although not until after I'd moved. My thoughts are with you - there is a siver lining in that cloud.

Thanks guys. We will go round and have a chat with them in the morning, but, if she doesn't want to keep her I can't force it. The really odd thing is that the woman has another cat, yet Minky hasn't bothered it at all.

Thanks guys. We will go round and have a chat with them in the morning, but, if she doesn't want to keep her I can't force it. The really odd thing is that the woman has another cat, yet Minky hasn't bothered it at all. Thing is though the other cat isn't poppet, who minky would be counting on in her little worried kitty brain to be well . . poppet, & if poppet doesn't smell right then she might as well be the kitty equivalent of something out of invasion of the body snatchers (feline version) Wouldn't swear to it but George not being there might be making a difference as well. They had their own little hierarchical triangle & now ones missing & one doesn't smell right, think I might be tempted to try & take a chunk out of someone. But ultimately they're cats right, the supreme beings at making themselves at home, & turning anyone elses into theirs. Minky just needs a little time to figure she's got a new set of slaves & how best to train them, how to make the resident cat realise she's now boss & chances are while she's doing all this poppet will just slide back into being poppet. Seriously buy the strongest catnip toys you can find & take them round, legal kitty highs, let them OD for a while then chill . . . & maybe a nice bottle of wine for the new slaves owners & let them chill too.
