Can't live without ratties....I just need ratties

Now to resume training my two wild things youngsters and make cookies for the vets

I phoned the local cat protection league, but only got through to voice mail. I have also sent them an email, but no reply as yet. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow I shall try elsewhere.

In many areas it's run by volunteers - don't give up, maybe they just didn't have someone today. Idea for the future perhaps?

I am having the same problem now. I have phoned and emailed several people. Not one has replied apart from one lady from the RSPCA. After the conversation we have just had I am going into panic mode. She said they are so overwhelmed with the amount of cats,that they have a waiting list to take them in!! When I explained my story she said this was part of their problem. Many of the pets they are getting is due to sheltered housing or care homes and supported living places not accepting people existing pets. She sympathised and gave me more numbers but basically said she can't do it. What hope do I have if the RSPCA can't help? I can't throw them out in the street.

Really wish I could help you out Dolly. If we weren't moving to America, I'd have no hesitation in adopting at least one of them. Poppet is the one I was instantly drawn to.

Anyway, have you googled cat rescue UK for a list of places that might help? I had a quick go and came up with this www.catchat.org/adoption/essex.html but didn't want to carry on hunting in case I was out of line.

You are not out of line at all newdawn I appreciate your help and Loobie. I think I have now got to the point where I will have to try any rescue place in the uk that can take them. If anyone knows of places that are currently accepting cats please let me know. I will just have to drive them to wherever they are.

Thanks Hun. That would be great. I won't be able to send them till late tonight as Mr Dolly has the pics he took a few days ago on his phone and doesn't get home from work till 10pm. That's very kind of you.

I will use that as a last resort as it's hard to make sure they are going to a good home.

One good bit of news. CPL gave my number to a lady who wants to come look at George on Saturday!! I am very hopeful as there's nothing not to love about him. They live in a village with fields out the back and have a half acre garden! He would be in heaven. Fingers crossed!

Also, you could get in touch with the local vets and pet shops, they often know of people looking for animals

That's good news dolly, you never know she might be tempted to take them all; as they are used to being together.
