I went to my first B&M yesterday...

... and picked up a 1lt bottle of Thai sweet chilli sauce for £1.50.   £1.50 for a lt.  Tis lovely stuff too, not too sweet, not too salty, enough of a kick to keep me interested.  But how the heck am I going to get through a litre of chilli sauce in six weeks or so?  I think I'll be getting tired of sweet chilli and cheese sarnies pretty quickly!

Their booze prices looked sound too, well for the few brands I had actually heard of.  A shame it was absolutely packed with chavs still enjoying the novelty of B&M making it as far as Cornwall.

I had a quick look at their 'e-cig refils' but wisely chose to steer clear.  Slightly cheaper than the £5 bottles of Hangsen I can get in Plymouth's poor excuses for vaping shops, but at least I know what I'm getting with the Hangsen, even if it is ripped off.

That's the problem too many b&m shops trying to make a quick buck out of ecigs. The ones down this end of Cornwall are not much better, time a decent one opened up dedicated to vaping and not over priced.

I wonder if you could freeze it in smaller portions BrenD ??? You sometimes get wee sachets of frozen chilli sauce in with ready meals.

I hadn't thought of trying to freeze some of it, that might be a good shout!  

The B&M near me is next door to quite a big Waitrose with a free bus service and I saw quite a few people going into Waitrose for their free coffee (one couple with a Waitrose card each, of course, got quite arsey when they were told they could no longer have a large coffee as a freebie!) before heading into B&M.  That counts as a good day out for some folk in these parts.  But as long as B&M can keep me in cheap chilli sauce and alcomahol, I'll keep going back.

The website for one of the b&ms in Plymouth looks the part and contains text like this:

which could certainly pique the interest of a noob, but what they offer is a small cupboard full of rebranded Hangsen and overpriced eGo kits in a tattoo parlour.  The lass I bought liquid from really didn't know what she was selling, so much for being passionate about it!  At least they'll probably be vape-friendly if I ever fancy getting inked.

The other one is just a rip-off.  Even taking the extra costs of running a few market stalls and some shops into consideration, £53 for a double EVOD starter kit, £40 for a VV3 without a clearo and £5 for 10ml of Hangsen is taking the pee. But it introduced lots of people in the area to vaping and I'd rather have it there for emergencies than it not exist, so I guess it serves some purpose.  That said, I'm slowly turning the vapers at work who know no better on to sites like Joose Juice and Darkstar.  I don't think any of them see vaping as a hobby and wouldn't be interested in posting here, getting into mixing or even buying expensive liquids, but introducing them to better stuff when they ask what I'm vaping or for other vendors they can try is the least I can do.

I started reading your post BrenD and thought you'd found some Thai sweet chilli e-juice. I thought ooh that sounds nice!

BrenD I was in Torpoint/Plymouth at the weekend and had a lovely meal in Le Bistrot Pierre in Royal William Yard. Got a free bottle of wine as well as my Partner signed up on their website. 3 of us ate with 2 courses, 2 Amuse Guele (Honey glazed Chorizo) extra chips and it was only £43 and was LOADS.

You can use your sweet chilli sauce as a glaze on Ribs, just put the ribs in a ziplock bag add the chilli sauce and let it marinade overnight, cook i the oven at 180c for sweet/hot/sticky ribs.

Where's the B&M and where's the Waitrose? I did not think there was a Waitrose in Plymouth?

B & M usually means "Bricks and Mortar" as opposed to a online shop, but confusingly there is also a chain now doing cheap stuff called B&M

It is in Saltash. The Focus or whatever it was just off Carkeel is now a B&M.
