Spent every night this week migrating to a new Windows7 PC that i bought 2yrs ago, plugged it in once to try it & hated Win7 so went straight back to my old machine with XP.
Seems like Microsoft is now forcing everyone's hand.
Does Win7 only work on 64bit machines?
Anyone know of any safe warez to make Win7 look/feel & work like XP?

I was the same at first but after a few tweaks I really like it now, I prefer xp for music recording and I keep it on a laptop I use for hooking up to the car's brain but on my main machine it's win 7 x64 ronaldo Yeh bud, still got it

Belarc is really good freeware it lists all your software and serial numbers/codes you won't lose any then. But saying that you may need to upgrade some software as it's not compatible with later versions of windows.

Does Win7 only work on 64bit machines? ----nope ....to make simple for you : windows 7 32bit and windows 7 64bit.....from here start the variations of windows 7. Anyone know of any safe warez to make Win7 look/feel & work like XP? ....why you need warez for this ??? ... XP Luna is a theme for Windows 7 that will bring the look and feel of Windows XP to Windows 7, definitely worth it if you want the simple looks of XP and the power of Windows 7.... more here techie-buzz.com/featured/download-windows-xp-theme-for-windows-7.html ..by the way ,this is not a warez website ,everything on this website is legal. We can make problems to our moderators......just my opinion... how i said before : Linux Mint , Ubuntu ,Elementary OS and many other Linux distributions are FREE OF CHARGE ....90% of linux software is free ,easy to install , easy to work under linux ,much more secure etc etc.

I've been testing software we use and upgrading to windows 8.1 at work last few weeks .....it's been tough, just about managed to sort all problems with supposedly incompatible stuff.
If anyone gets stuck at windows 8.1 won't allow install of un verified drivers it can be done. Can share link to instructions if needed? Doesn't guarantee they will but possibly.
Also even in windows 8.1 you don't need a Microsoft account to login, option is just well hidden!
Also you can use desktop be default in windows 8.1...just not obvious.
Had to work over many nights as can't have downtime! Thanks Microsoft, twats, xp was working fine....now I'm gonna have loads of questions at work along the lines of where's that, why can't I do this....grrr

However, i don't see any improvements for Win7 over XP for the simple tasks i use a PC for, too many options / suggestions for what i should do in lots of situations when all i want to do is my usual thing in the usual way.... my way. Win7 seems to assume that you have no idea where you might like to put thigs, the endless popups & unsolicited offerings of what you should do everytime you connect a device are a little tiresome to say the least, i know what i want to do & where i want to go with my simple tasks, i like to choose my own programs & not follow the sheep

Gota say that's why I use Linux at home, but even Ubuntu (I use variations of this) ain't immune, since they moved from gnome I've resisted upgrading for the most part by using gnome based variations as unity isn't as functional, found myself using terminal for even simple things as couldn't find how to do stuff graphically. Might have another shot at new version when get bored mind. Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk 2

Same here Super-Shiny XP user - spoke to engineer who originally built mine from new, he's gonna put Windows 7 on it next week for me Damn nuisance though, got to back-up all my firefox bookmarks - got loads of them, + back-up my emails, take note of all my software codes such as anti-virus software, winzip, design suite activation code, + anything else I can think of in the meantime. I hate all this, there will probably be something I'll forget which will give me a major headache when I get the machine back. Microsoft does not play fair More expense too Look for some free software called mozbackup, will save your whole profile for Firefox including bookmarks, passes etc. Once backed up this can be used on a fresh install of firefox to restore it all.

Cheers guys, I shall look into both belarc and mozbackup, and yes I did already know about backing up the bookmarks into an html file as I had done that several years ago. Just needed to find out how to do it again, no doubt I would find instructions via our beloved friend google. Websites I've built via Dreamweaver, the server settings etc I think I will need to take note of, don't think they'll transfer across once I do a fresh install of the CS3 suite - ooooooh, now I'm wondering if CS3 will work with Windows 7 hmmm, anyone know if any Adobe CS3 software works on windows 7 then???? Anybody got CS3 photoshop on their windows 7 machine?
