True Raffles, but i've never known the postman to come that late before I have known postmen provide 'other' services on their rounds... it's not just the milkman you need to be wary of!

The post is being split with T&T now. Some days you can expect two deliveries. I couldn't tell who gets what to post but I can say we have two to stalk now

Anyone remember the days of 2 deliveries in a day from RM, 1st post of the morning and the second after lunch time when that was considered to be a ' standard ' service . . . It would make a nice fairy story now, to tell the grandchildren.

ETA: All I get now is junk... leaflets, pizza offerings, insurance offers etc., so once a day is enough.

I'm only 28 and I remember that your post used to be there when you got up in a morning and then your got another delivery after lunch.
I also remember binmen that used to come and get your bin out of your bin cupboard, take it to the bin truck and then bring it back and put it back in the bin cupboard! Big metal bins too, none of this plastic with wheels.

Welcome to the world of selling all national assets on the cheap to friends of politicians. We are all guilty of sleep walking in to the current situation, which will only get worse. Our national response is doing nothing while it's happening, then moan about it. We had, and still have for now, the best postal system in the world. You owned it. They sold it. It's currently happening to another vital service to the less capable members of society, the Post Office. Done by stealth though, "franchising" to private owners. We swallow the mantra of private enterprise improving service, despite the fiasco of the railways, monstrous utility bills and food banks proliferating in the country. Orwell was not a fiction writer. He was the modern Nostradamus.

Orwell wrote it as a warning, not as a guide!
