Okay - just been on Amazon and saw this - do you think it's a bit over the top for what I need it for? Only £499.00! Call me old-fashioned, but that's Shinyitus taken to ridikkerluss levels icon_shoppingm Could always put your private parts in it, atleast the wife cannot say "Sorry love not tonight, it stinks" so well worth the £499.00

tomj777 - does it have to be VG, because all of my eliquids are 70/30 PG/VG - a dollop of that on the o'ring will be ok, won't it? To be honest I don't truly know but I don't see why not. The goal is to stop them drying out (I guess the material the o'ring consists of may make this irrelevant although I'm not aware) In anticipation of starting mixing (about four months ago) I bought bottles of VG, PG and 72% base + a whole bunch of paraphernalia and I decanted a little VG into a 10ml bottle ('cause I bought a bunch of those as well)... Since then, whenever I've stripped an atty to clean I've always either rolled the o'rings a little or removed them / replaced them (my goodness Druide doesn't half swell them) and smeared VG across where the o'rings fit. I've not had one degrade yet (except those damned under the Kayfun cap aniseed/absinthe games). I did the same with whatever liquid I had kicking about on protank o'rings early on (once I'd sussed out they were a possible leak cause). On the same grounds, don't tighten protanks and the like to the point where you've crushed the o'rings (apparently - although heaven only knows how to tell what the right torque is).

Will the Evod coil deteriorate with Steradent denture cleaner & hot water, or should I just chuck a new coil on it when I start a new flavour?

The only thing to look out for with Ultrasonic cleaners (if that's what you are using) is powder coating's on clearomizers (like the Evods) as it can degrade it and clearomizers that use glue as the Ultrasonic cleaner can remove that glue and make the clearomizer leak. Steel/Metal and Glass is fine.

Thanks Super-Shiny but I'm not going to use an ultrasonic cleaner - just hot water & a Steradent tablet (wife should be picking them up for me in a minute bless her).

CaptainChaos then you will be fine with Steradent tablet's, after the Steradent tablet clean just run the stuff under cold water for a couple of seconds and dry all parts.

Just get the cheap stores own ones 89p fo 20 in Tesco - though no Tesco in Portishead, Bicarbonate of Soda also works (it's what denture tablets are made of)

No Tesco, but there's Co-op & Waitrose (and soon to be Sainsburys so there will be a great petrol war starting)

Bicarbonate of Soda is flavourless if you don't like the slight flavour residue some Denture tablets leave CaptainChaos . . . and is what they're mainly composed of anyway. In the Bakery Aisle of any of those supermarkets.

Arghhhh now you've added bicarb of soda to the equation for "flavourless cleaning".
Can you get bicarb of soda tablets the same as denture tablets?
Is it the same process?
Hot water + (whatever) tablet + all the bits of the evod + hours waiting + cold water rinse + drying (or not) = clean & shiny?

It's powder not a tablet CaptainChaos, but just substitute one denture cleaning tablet for a teaspoon of Bicarb and the rest of the process is the same. It's also good to have an eggcup full of bicarb uncovered in the fridge as it absorbs any whiffy smells
