Okay, right. Got some Steradent Pro Extra Strength, took the protank 2's apart, got some hot water in a cup, put the protank (disassembled) bits in, threw a tablet in & left it (as the tubs instructions said) for 10 minutes ish. There is still a very slight flavour smell from the tank part - should I have left the bits in there a longer? Also .... they are all stood up drying at the moment and I noticed that there may be one of those O ring things missing. Here's a pic I just did: I put an O ring on that bit - is that right?

I would leave longer than 10 minutes at least an hour then rinse well. You do need that o-ring stops leakage good job they give spares

And that is the correct location (at least on the normal sized protank 1 & 2s')

Okay thank you. New O-ring put on, so it should seal now (even though it was ok before) I will soak my bits in the Steradent for longer next time. Next question! Just received the 23 Chefs Vapour 1ml sample pack from smokerainbow. Do these samples need to "steep" as much as 'normal' eliquids, or are they ready to go? I now have 4 spare Evod mini protank 2s screaming "FEED ME FEED ME" and they don't want to wait lol

+1 for bicarbonate of soda. Just cleaned all my spare clearos yeterday, used a kettle full of boiled water but left to cool for about ten-fifteen minutes. Covered everything in bicarb and added the water, left for about 12 hours and when everything came out it looked brand new. Quick rinse with clean water and set out to dry. Have found even doing coils this way, depending on juice and usage, can extend the life by an extra 50-60% or so. Did a couple iClear30b coils as have no new ones and they look good as new. Don't even smell of anything and had menthol in one, grape in the other

When I bought the Steradent tube of tablets in Co-op earlier, there were 4 different types & I had to sheepishly ask an assistant which one would leave the least smell after cleaning.
I must've said about 300 times "They're not for my teeth, ok? They're for cleaning my tubes, I mean my clearomizers, no the driptip & the coil to get the smell out ... erm ..."
I think she nearly called security lol

that really made me laugh I can just imagine it. Any old denture tablet does though so just get the cheapest.

Yeah babs - I was looking for the oldest member of staff to ask, because they'd probably be more familiar with denture tablets than an 18 year old kid

Hahaha! I know the feeling CaptainChaos ! I spent the whole afternoon trawling Edinburgh chemists, asking for blunt syringes and getting blank looks! I also came home with a tube of Sterident from Tescos but I'm too knackered to do anything with it now lol

Arghhhh now you've added bicarb of soda to the equation for "flavourless cleaning". Side by side comparison for you CaptainChaos. Bicarbonate of Soda:
