hi i as recommended this forum by sombody on mse.
i brought a health e-cigarette at the weekend and almost totally ditched analogues if the battery didnt keep running out and atomizer overheating which is really annoying. my main reason for switch is to save money, but the ive already started feeling a bit more healthy.
anyway as a result i wanted to get something more reliable but am still bemused by all the products, but have kinda settled on getting a 510 as im not ready for one of the big ones, now as money is a really issue(im on dole) have been hunting around the net and found a really good deal...a starter kit for 12.99 which only has 1 battery/atomizer usb. ill get extra batteries later. next best deal ive seen is 20 quid which includes 10ml but not 5 prefilled carts. is 180mAh good or bad?
not sure if i can post link here but can anyone tell me if unbranded 510 are as good or worse than joye 510?
how long will one battery last?( i have pc access alot fo the day) im normally 20 a day but seem to be more addicted to e-cig chain smoking. also the carts im using now say high strenght...but the analogues i smokes before were 0.4mg nicotine, how do i decide what strenght ejuice to get?
also as i dont have credit card and have to rely on paypals slow transfers does any one know any real shops in london i can get a 510? i saw a gabucci for 50 quid today in edgware rd.....i made a fast exit.
thanks james

Hi King & welcome I don't think a 510 kit will honestly suit you for long if you were an ex 20 a day man. So I would say get at least a full kit with spare atomiser(s) and e-liquid. As for branded or unbranded, nothing in it in my opinion, except the Joye products cost more and are sometimes better suited to working with certain cartomisers. Don't know of any shops in London though sorry

Hello & welcome King. As Jason says . . . whilst appreciating your financial position, it's a false economy in all honesty to purchase a kit with one battery & one atomiser. We've a couple of Competitions running atm for a 510-T kit, which would be a much better starter proposition for you, enter and you never know your luck. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=competitionsAlso, as Lisa has suggested it would be worth taking a look at Daz's site when he has a 25% discount running.

Hello and welcome king My 510 is unbranded and is fine, although I'm not using it at the moment, it's just a spare now for 'just in case'. I bought it from safer cigs. and a battery lasted me a whole day at first when it was new. I was a 30 a day roll-up smoker. I vape more than I did then though with all the fantastic flavours there are, I love the sweetie ones! One battery's definitely not enough though as they take 2 - 3 hours to charge, so you'd be going without it for all that time. Edited to add that you mustn't leave it on charge overnight, you need to keep an eye on it until the light turns green then remove it from the charging device as soon as you notice it's charged. A safety measure I believe.

Hi James, and welcome Like the other peeps I’d say that a basic 510 starter probably wouldn’t be the way to go for you. As a 20 a day man you’d find that you needed to recharge the battery several times a day. Also small batteries (the ones that look approx ciggy sized) wouldn’t allow you to try out lower resistance cartomizers later. They just don’t have the oomph for it. Being as you’re on a tight budget, and you smoke 20 tabs a day, I think you should get yourself a basic Ego or Riva starter kit. They’re a bit bigger than a standard 510 ciggy sized model, but they’ll be far more cost effective in the longer term. Something to bear in mind on the running costs front, all e-cig batteries have a maximum no of charging cycles built in before the battery needs replacing. Most claim around 300 charges max, but it’d be better to play safe and assume 200. The higher the mah rating, the longer the time the battery will give power before it needs recharging. I’ll use myself as an example (I smoked approx 20 a day). I started out with a small lookalike e-cig with maybe 180mah batteries, and I needed to charge them about 4 times during the day. So from that you can see I’d have been replacing them in less than 2 months (at best). However I wised up and got myself a Riva kit with 650mah batteries, and I only need to charge them up once a day, so each battery should last more than 6 months (I got 2 batteries with the kit so I could be ok for 12 months!). Basically with e-cigs, the more it looks like a normal cigarette, the more it will cost you to run. Though he didn’t mention it, this kit that Jason sells is amazing value (it comes with 2x1100mah batteries!): www.vapeescape.co.uk/the%2Driva%2D1100%2Ddeluxe%2Dkit%2D%5Bideal%2Dfor%2Dbeginners%5D%7E151On the nic strength, there doesn’t seem to be a direct correlation between e-cigs and real tabs. The way they deliver the nic is different. I found the info here to be very useful: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/index.php/beginner-ecigarette-tutorial-2.htmlBTW, most online suppliers take PayPal, so you don't really need a credit card. Hope all that helped, John

I'd second that recommendation. I have the Riva kit from Jason and it's 'spot on.' Fox

I have to admit that buying a 510 was false economy. But money is an issue with me at the moment as I'm unemployed and I went for the cheapest I could find. It didn't take long until I felt I needed a bigger e cig and longer battery life and I've been buying a lot of small bottles of juices lately as there's too so many tempting flavours other than the simulated tobacco flavours. In comparison to smoking roll ups, buying, tobacco, papers, filters, rolling machines and a holder (to avoid nicotine stained fingers) which I also bought extra tar trapping filters for to put in the holder which had to be renewed every day, (costly ) it's nowhere near as expensive. Anyway, job or no job, we should still treat ourselves to something, else there's no point to life! But that's just my opinion.

A couple of 510 batteries and one of these cases makes a great starting setup:- www.vapeescape.co.uk/portable-charging-case~108I had one of these from Jason and often used it for trips out. The case charges your battery when it is not being used and is made out of metal, so quite robust. It can also hold a few cartridges and an atomizer. I'm not saying this is better than one of the larger battery kits, but if you really want a 510 setup I would say this is the way to go. Steve

I expect it was Isaac or Verona who nobbled you on MSE, King - great to see you here, I do hope we can get you sorted with something good and cheap soon There's just a chance that someone may have second-hand they could sell you, I won't jump the gun and do it for you but you could put a "wanted" ad in our Classifieds & Swaps, just in case. I'll have a look around in the meantime >>>>> King, given your current circumstances, and given that I've just seen our Norty Nutty Netty say she'll never upgrade from her "basic" 510 cos she loves it, how about going for Safer Cigs "Bud 510" special offer? www.safercigs.co.uk/Bud_510_Starter_kit/p705283_4230681.aspxThat surely will give you a good starting point, and you can see if anyone's offering juices in the Classifieds - you can never have too much juice or spares of every kind Hopefully Daz (Safercigs) will give his opinion on my recommendation. scylla
