just caught up with this... interesting... I've not long got NR-R-NR pre-made 1.8 ohm coils from ft, one lot single 2mm wick, one lot 4-wick 0.5mm each. in protank heads, the single 2mm wick work well with no or 1-2 strands of flavour wick. The 4-wick ones I trim 2 of the wicks so they sit just inside the cup part of the head - if you leave all 4 sticking out it gets a bit tight. Had no probs with dodgy resistance on any of them so far, recoiled around 20 heads and checked them all, all bar a couple coming in at 1.8 ohms, the couple that don't are 1.7 oh, and I definitely wiggle

I cut, not wiggle. Unwrapping wires with no res legs makes almost no difference. The "res" section will be the 1.8ohms. Look to see where the joins are. (disclaimer....I haven't seen this exact type for real.....) Each to their own, the OP tells of issues, wiggling May help I will try wiggling again ASAP. Good point....

toots are you reading the ohms using your battery? If so try tightening the base upto the battery more

re wiggling or snapping off with nail clippers
I snap off with nail clippers. I find they are longer with wiggling. I also find that if I do have a little end I just bend it down or up into the grommet and that fixes it
With regards ohms. Mine tend to measure about 1.8-1.9ohms on my vamo (still slightly alive) and about 2.2-2.5ohm on my resistance checker from FT

Hi guys, haven't been able to do any more coils or try wiggling yet. Got a septic finger and can't grip anything with that hand Even having problems typing so that's why I've not been on here for a few days Been reading posts but typing is taking me ages to do Hand is quite swollen as well as finger, hurts like hell when I put a slight pressure on it
