Hello all, well as from yesterday I didnt smoke a stinkie, this half and half needs to be kicked now. Anyway....all went well but late on I got a bad case of acid indigestion, I put it down to maybe something I ate and had some Milk of Magnesia. Got up this morning and changed my juice and vaped away again...by dinner time the Acid was back...had a drink of milk and ignored it. By the afternoon I was in crippling pain with acid ....not something I had eaten....so changed to another juice and carried on...by tea time it was terrible....so at 6.30 had a stinkie.....changed to a minty/menthol juice and went out food shopping....now the cost of the shopping bill was enough to give anyone indigestion but jeez it really was kicking in. So I have had a break from the vaping and had 5 stinkies instead....guess what...no acid!!!! Had 3 different juices....either 50/50 or 40/60....never had a problem before, what could be the cause of the acid? Now I was puffing away on the VTR like never before, determined that I could do this......I was enjoying the different juices and having a stinkie was far from my mind...but it did seem the more I vaped the worse the acid got.......

Too much cake, if you ask me! Try Gaviscon, my daughter tells me I'd like the taste...

Don't forget that your body is going through a mahoosive change if you have started giving up the stinkies - it will take a while before it adjusts, and just make sure you are well hydrated in the meantime. Carry a bottle of water with you everywhere, and small sips to counteract the dehydrating effect that the juice has on your system. Persevere and it should get better in a couple of days. Maybe try some different (lower) strength juice too in case that is part of the problem.

I guess you probably just overdid the vaping on your first day without stinkies Debbie13. I have had bad stomach problems for 25 years and have been taking a high dose of either ranitidine or omeprazole daily for those 25 years to reduce the amount of acid my stomach produces. Since starting vaping and no stinkies I have now been able to reduce that to one tablet every other day in a couple of months. Hopefully the acid will soon disappear when you vape more conservatively shall we say.

Yeh what he^^^says. It's bound to have an effect on your guts amongst other things.
You could try ranetadine from the likes of asda or tesco, it's basically zantac but in it's generic form and a lot cheaper, usually works well though. Might have to take it regular for a bit to give the guts a rest and let things settle down.

Gaviscon is very good. I have a very large bottle of that in the cupboard as well.

The medicines are not an issue, I have at least 5 different ones....they work Gaviscon makes me gip lol had it when I was pregnant for acid and I hate every single one of the flavors lol When I first started months back...I was vaping like mad...to get to my half and half days ....higher nics too and didnt have this issue....but in the morning I shall drink a large glass of water before I have the first of my 2 cups of tea for the day and continue to drink water all day...although being on a diet I drink water like mad too anyhow LOL Just seems silly having acid while vaping....never heard of anyone else having this issue.....I have millions of juices to keep changing throughout the day so fingers crossed

Worth getting checked out by the GP Debbie13. They may want to check for an ulcer.

Debbie13, don't forget that Nicotine in the way you are using it now is new to your system. As has been mentioned, your body does need time to adjust and I suspect that the nic content in your juices may be a little too high for your body to cope with at this time. I know other folks will be using higher strengths, but the question is are they vaping in the same manner as you or as often as you? It's a common mistake when "dual fueling"and many have found it beneficial to adapt their vaping haits initially to suit. However as a sensible precaution, do follow Karma's advice as it's better safe than sorry.

Thank you Karma and charon, again today started out well....but now I have it terrible, I have stuck to a mint/menthol juice thinking maybe the mint may help a little but alas nope....I have only a 6mg nic juice in now and most of yesterday too...so it not the nic levels....someone else I spoke to on Facebook said they knew someone who got it too with high pg juices and started with high vg juice and it stopped...best get looking in my box's....see if I have a low PG juice to test this on.... It got that bad last night that my beloved Red Astaire tasted awful....noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I dont want to ever fall out of love with that stuff!!! Drunk like a fish today too...mainly water and a glass or 2 of ribena.....gonna be heading for the milk soon....it helps cool the acid down for some reason.

definitely a trip to the GP Debbie13 - just to be on the safe side - you were vaping before and did not have it - it might be also psychological - a bit of an anxiety to make the step of quitting the stinkies all together - tell your subconcious to be quiet - it really is no big deal - I was also a big anxious when I made this decision ( fortunately I had no side effects ) not to touch a ciggy again - now I am so fine about it - not only fine - over the moon

Have had this problem also. ( cake definitely does it unfortunately) have pin pointed it to too strong menthol. I love it strong but have to be careful just how much I vape

I agree a trip to the docs is definitely called for Debbie13 but in the meantime, Zantac, or any of the generic equivalents, should act as a prevention if you take one every morning They do say not to take for more than a week I think, so just to get you through to your doctor's appointment

I am not a huge menthol fan......like a little as a backdrop flavor....I am using a Humbug one hubby got from a shop we visited a while back and added a little dash of homemade menthol.... Ohhh maybe thats it.....I vape very strong flavors.....otherwise I cannot taste it....I have it that strong that some friends have had their heads blown off when they have tried it lol.......maybe it is the strong flavors that are doing this.....
