Calling AAEC sub ohm'ers!

I have been tempted to try sub ohm nothing to crazy maybe around .7 / .8 i have a helios clone capable to twin coils.

The problem is i dont know if i can safely use what batterys i have efest 18650 protected ( black and gold labels ) from vape escape.
If i do need new cells what ones will safely allow me to go to the above .7 /.8 or lower ohms? AW imr  from vape escape 

Or myepack do the sony VTC4's Would any of these be fine to charge with my nitecore e2 ? or will i need another charger also? (swapped cable out and put in 3amp fuse as per recommendation

The protected efests are perfect also I have the vtc4s and they are as awesome as people say.

I vape around that level and would recommend the VTC4 especially as they are a great battery and it gives you plenty of head room if you want to go lower. I have never had protected batteries as the general opinion is that "safe chemistry"* ones are safer, and I don't believe you will find may sub-ohmers using them.

*"safe chemistry" as not all IMRs are true IMR but hybrids and the term just stuck. A true IMR will not over charge, but never rely on that.

Sony VTC4's would be THE THING if you are planning to go sub-ohming. Anyway, if you only plan to go to .7 or .8 ohms, and after some quick math, even if you go as low as .6ohms and pumping 4.2V through it, you only need a battery capable of doing 7 amps.. Put 3 more amps just to be safe and you need a battery capable wit max Amp=10.
SOny VTC4 have a limit of 30 The protected ones I dn't know tbh...

Right so the best idea then is to stick above 1ohm with the efests i have and invest in the sony! simple enough
The next one is will the sony be fine to charge with my current charger ?

steve would you know the amp limit of these ? or safest sub ohm if possible with these

What I can tell you is the box standard red efest 18350's 800mAh are safe down to 0.7 ohms, just not sure if the same goes for protected batteries but surely the protection part would prevent anything bad from happening?

True (if you have faith in Efests spec), but they are rubbish at it, they will have a huge sag/voltage drop.

IMO get batteries with double the "max discharge current" rating that you expect to use in the next year.

Nitecore chargers fit everything lol

A decent 2 A charger will charge VTC4 3-4 times faster than a nitecore, EG Xtar SP2 and not a Efest LUC4. Even a 1 A like Xtar VP1 would be quicker.

I have the vtc4s and use a nitecore charger - it does take a while, but they charge just fine. I haven't ever sub-ohmed, not yet anyway, but I know I'll be tempted so thought I better get suitable batteries.

Wont that also shorten the overall lifespan of the cell too?
