No Vaping in local pub :(

Last night i was at a "Comedy night" in our local pub (I live in a little village on east coast of Scotland) So i asked the Landlord if he had heard of e-cigs? & gave him one of my vendor's cards. I explained what vaping was & showed him my e-cig. He handed me the card back (without looking at it) & said "yeah well it's still smoking ??? so you go outside with the smokers??? I tried to explain that....NO it wasn't smoking, there was no tobacco, nothing gets "lit"it was vapour etc... He answered with "well i'll check with the licensing board before hurrying off as if i was gonna burn him with it (i wish) I have to point out at this point that this guy is a jumped up little fart who has lost so many customers due to his delightful charm that he has to now put on "comedy nights" "quiz nights" etc etc to try to win people back. The smokers however were intrigued with my e-cig & all wanted to know more! I had taken a spare along with me so they were all having a try In the end i ran out of cards & would say a good many of them seemed really serious about changing, most were keen due to the price of cigs It feels so good spreading the vapour word!

It sounds like you live in a small place like I do, though, I did hear, that someone was vaping in the one pub, still not sure if they were inside or out.
It's a shame he is like that, I know many people who don't go out or don't go out as often since the ban came in, including myself.

Anyways how did your night out go? Did you have a lovely time

Yep Chill i had a great night thanks:) It did turn into a bit of a late one one of my friends came back to mine & we sat & chatted until the wee small hours & this cold/virus thats developing is alot worse today anything i eat/drink feels like i'm swallowing broken glass Its pouring with rain today so i think after i walk Milo at lunchtime i'm gonna snuggle up & have a nap

You'd really think that landlords would be more tolerant of ecigs, as most smokers would jump at the chance to be able to get their nicotine hit while sitting comfortably, enjoying their drink, and i reckon pubs everywhere have lost trade, due to the smoking ban

but.....hehe....its not pouring here, in fact it's almost clear skies and very mild

Lilac, just as i read your post the sun peeked through the clouds! Yes i definately agree the pubs have lost trade due to the smoking ban, you just have to look at the amount of pubs that have closed. From the elderly man that went out during the day for his pint & cig & a wee banter with his pals to the younger generation that now all meet up in one of their houses where they can drink cheaply & smoke until midnight when they head to the nightclubs

Sorry to hear about the ignoramus pub landlord unfortunately there's a lot of them out there. ( both ignoramus's n pub landlords lol)

What a short sighted Publican Sue . . . given the number of pubs that have closed down, due in part to the Smoking Ban, you'd think he'd be jumping with joy at the prospect of a legal alternative, that could get customer's back through his door.

Well done you though, for not letting him spoil your night out and for spreading the word at the same time.
