Hmmm I've not heard of any blanket ban on vaping in public places as per below quotation:

They consider that Spain's blanket ban on 'vaping' near schools, health centres or in public places, and continued health warnings about E-cigarettes, are 'purely financially-motivated' and aimed at benefiting large pharmaceutical giants who provide drugs to help people stop smoking - a way of clawing back multi-millions in taxes.

Yeah I had heard of the ban at health centres and at/near schools but no blanket ban in public places - I and others are still vaping in bars over here in Tenerife, no-one's said anything to us (yet)

According to the Association, a counter-movement promoting products aimed at helping people give up smoking is killing off the E-cigarette trade, but that said products have side-effects which are 'much more dangerous'

Really?!?! - Just last week I read a whole page in my local paper here telling us how good e-cigarettes were for us compared to analogue cigarettes and it was quoting ASH's figures about the amount of people now using e-cigs compared to a few years ago, and that it was not a gateway to smoking etc etc etc.


This is the first I've heard about 60% vaping shops closing down too. Mind you, maybe a lot of vapers are buying from the likes of FT due to the extortionate prices in the vape shops, which could be a reason for declining sales. If my local vape shop was reasonably priced I'd buy from there but because everything is so damned expensive I don't even visit there anymore (eg 4 euros for one kanger coil head).

And yeah, the fags over here are dirt cheap but they're quite a bit more expensive in mainland Spain I do believe, don't know the costs for a pack over there, actually don't even know the costs of a pack here now as I haven't bought any for a year - will have to go and take a look (out of curiosity).

Hmmmm.... well I saw quite a few Spanish Vapers last week. Also found a nice vaping shop just opened up, mainly Ego's and spinners but nicely done with a good selection of juices.

Also when asked if I could Vape in the Bars I went into I was told yes, no one batted an eyelid.

I remember reading that some time back. Somehow I don't think it will happen like that. There'll be too many challenges in the court/s and the court systems are a joke, it would take years to get to court and then another year for a result of those court proceedings.

Our complex was taken to court for allegedly being illegal, took 4 years to get us there and then 14 months after that we got the result - we won the case btw yay.

People have been using e-cigs for at least the last few years, has anyone actually died from it yet? - and I mean died from vaping, not exploding batteries by charging them incorrectly or drinking the juice straight from the bottle like idiots.

Compare the number of vape deaths with smoke deaths in the last few years and lets see which is more harmful.

Very well said ,with the obvious answer . Much as we can moan about our press (usually the Daily Fail) they on the whole have been much more even handed in the last 6 months (esp The Times which is very pro) this along with slightly more positive TV coverage has meant that we have not been as badly affected with anti e-cig propaganda as some other EU  countries .

France also seems to have a "reasonable" press coverage,from what I understand Spain Germany etc do not 

Recent conferences such as shown here help the process of educating the doubters and the press even further .....this is a damn good watch I recommend it
