I have made microcoils for my protank heads, two of them are making a massive hissing sound for some time after the button is released on the mod, does not sound right, sounds like they are burning out, but then they vape ok again, it bothers me because it does not sound like they are working properly, what could be the cause of this? I tested the resistance but did not dry burn them before inserting cotton wick and using.

Is the battery getting warm? Have you tested resistance since it started? I'm worried you have a short and the noise is coming from the battery. If so, stop using it immediately!
If not, im not sure. The coil should cool down quickly after you release the button, not instantly but quickly.

It's juice on the coil before it's cooled down, what gauge of wire did you use? Thicker stuff tends to hang on to the heat for longer.

What mod is it? My SID 'overruns' maybe 1 1/2 seconds (known for this), maybe others do it too. Your protank may have done it before but you never heard it til it got some decent coils.

Thanks everyone, yeah it's an MVP I'm using, hissing seems to be happening for much longer than usual. I just making coils using thicker wire, I did 12 wraps of .3mm kanthal for 1.6 ohms, ha, I prefer the thicker wire, it seems easier to work with.
