I was just looking for something to get consistent results from rewicking without affecting the flavour, clouds or throat hit.

The 5mm tape I have been using was easier to use but has not given consistent results. I've had a lot of gurgling and increased seepage. I also had to boil it before use.

I'm back to using cotton wool but am now getting consistent wicks. I had been twisting the cotton wool but, as a result of reading a post on here, I now roll it and just twist one end to get it through the coil.

Such a simple cure and I'm sure it was mentioned when I first started rewicking but there's so much information to absorb when taking the next step up the vaping ladder.

Now I have to find a use for 200 metres of cotton tape

I find it best to get the cotton fibres as linear as possible, not to tight, but fluffed with plenty of air in it.

Ok guys and gals here is my question.

I have now some organic cotton, sent to me by mrsmac I think it maybe originated with @scooby

I want to use it to thread a coil that I will be putting in a mini protank.
Said coils I buy as I can not make them, and they are microcoils, ( well - tightly wrapped ) and are 1.8mm.

The ricoh, and others have given a smokey flavour and on here it is believed it is due to the size of my coils.

So this organic, lets say I cut myself a piece off , 2 inches long.
What should I do?
Shove it through as it is?
Unravel it and do something, fluff it?
Only use 1,2, whatever strands?

The good thing about the organic cotton sammy13 is that you can more or less use it as you would cotton wool, using as much or as little as you need to suit the diameter of your coil.

Have a trawl back in this thread to see how I wick a 2mm coil. I do split it into two strands, separate it and fluff it up a bit.. After doing that you could just roll it into a pointed torpedo and thread it through,
as you would do with cotton wool. Whatever way you do it the trick is to get it neither too tight or too loose. Hope that helps.

At the risk of sounding stupid, ( I do recall that post of yours), I separate it, fluff it up, but then do you put both strands back together to thread it through? If so do you twist them together again?

I'm guessing the mini protank coils are smallish, I'm not familiar with them otherwise I could be more accurate. Try one strand, if it's loose take it out and add a little more. Only twist the end into a point to aid threading
With the right amount you should be able to pull it through the coil with just a little resistance.

Hi sammy13 I have indeed and splitting is what i do. I sit the two strands and seperate the fibres, the. I take an amount to thread through the coil, around 3/4 maybe of the fibre all together. I n order to get it in the coil, I learnt a trick a while back of using a small peice of foil on the end of the strands and twist it so that it is in a point and then thread it through the coil. I f you use the same principles of making sure that the fibres are snuck with a little resistance but can slide through without disturbing the coil. I hoe that make sense

I have now tried this on my newly purchased kayfun and I love it its fantastic lovely tasting clouds that don't lose flavour

forgot to say tried it in a vivi nova if you have one buried away dig it out and try it its great you wont believe the difference

No thanks, what's up with you and Vivi Novas did you pop your cheery with one and now have a permanent soft spot in your heart?  I thought they were great and bought 4 in early 2013 (before kayfun clones, good vape, big tank & no leaks), mine just sat in a box for months until some nutter took them off my hands.   Try 3 mm ribbon in the ViviNovas, if you don't have any I'll bring some to VF.

I have used the twine 3 times and it was good at first but clogged a bit to quickly I think it is my juice and that it doesn't fluff up enough (even after boiling).  I have also tried CelloCotton and it's similar in that respect.

My latest fav with all these wicks is 2 bits of rico (one inside the other to make it large with smoothish surface) inside an 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) 1.3 ? micro coil in kayfun clone.  I had to get the dremel out on the FT Tebeco clones today and enlarge the channels again as the Focal ones just wick so much better for me.

 I started vaping with a old ce4 that was way past its best was cracked had nail varnish on to stop it leaking then I was given a vivi nova and my vaping took off from there so vivis got me off the fags and I will always have a soft spot for them

I've got your number sunshine.

They were good for me, went from cartos to genesis (wow ) but genies were expensive, leaky and fragile so the Vivis were fantastic for out and about and you could rebuild them. But now Kayfun clones <£10 (aright you have to get the tools out, but that never bothers me) they pence to rebuild and have firmly taken that spot. ADV is a Kraken ss rope & ribbon, but Kayfuns: 70p for a spare tank from FT and a good enough vape to keep the stinkies away, need I say more.

now I have a couple of kayfuns I am bound to follow suit as you say with a kayfun its all about getting it set up right then there is no turning back and I will get there if I don't I will track you down at vapefest and we will have it running right I like it now but I know there is room for improvement
