Hi,
It's a very long time since I've been on here and just as long a time since I used an e-cig. When I did try, I was using e-cigs with the cartridges (yes, it's that long ago!).
So now I'm back and want to have another go since my cig smoking seems to have increased to 20-30+ a day.
I've spent the last few days reading threads on the boards and the various reviews but still can't make up my mind - no surprise there for me!
I've learned that Myepack is the preferred supplier by the majority and that their V1 starter kit or the Evod are good options.
When I was on cartridge e-cigs I suppose they weren't satisfying enough or I'd presumably still be on them. I also found it time consuming to clean, refill, charge etc. - despite having at least 4 batteries at the time and several chargers. Think I may also have given too big a drag as the carts needed to be refilled frequently and, for some reason, affected my ears!
So I'm wondering if there have been improvements in that the V1 battery lasts longer? I also like the idea of having the portable case/charger.
The Evod also appeals, but wondering how much bigger it is to the e-cig - for female use. It's a bit difficult to see on the website with my laptop - must be the black background?! Presumably that battery is larger and hence longer vaping. I can't see that there's a portable charger/case with that one - or does someone know differently. Also, I can't make out whether with the Evod you need to hold a button down when you use - which I've seen you need to do with some of the other makes?
Would be very grateful for any advice - or other suggestions.
TIA

I would highly recommend one of these with the spare coils www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301194671079?var=600257780897&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649And a couple of evod type batteries and usb charger then whatever juice you like. The kanger tanks that come with the evods are a total pain in the root, leaking, gurgling, I tried coil and wick of all types and they still go belly up after a while. It's something to do with the coil head design, everyone I know that uses them gets hassle. Those batteries should easily last a day too, the aspire is a nice fit with them too. That's my recommendation for a nice problem free vaping experience that satisfies.

Hi eyes and welcome back. To be honest, practically none of the decent setups are automatic and you're going to need to press a button to vape. Things have massively moved on, with the exception of the cig-a-likes really. You still won't get the satisfaction from them that you found missing before. The evods, with a tank on top, are about 5 or 6 inches, but you soon get very used to the size. I went from smoking for close to 30 years, to using skycigs for a year but dual fuelling, to using an evod style battery and clearo. The difference between the two is like night and day. Another one to consider is the itaste vv3 kit, same sort of size as the evod, but variabke wattage, so you can adjust the power thus adjusting your vape.

Welcome back eyes. I'd suggest one of these: myepack.co.uk/kits/evod-starter-kit-ss.htmlWith a couple of these: myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/iclear-16-dual-coil-clearmiser.htmlThe Evod is a bottom coil clearomiser, so will give you a softer vape, whilst the Iclear16 is a top coil and gives a warmer more throaty vape - one of the least faffy clearo's I've used. That would give you the opportunity of trying both, to see which type of vape you find more satisfying The size you very quickly get used to, as with using a button activation - it becomes automatic.

Hi eyes, I can only imagine the limited choice available back in 2009. Now its not so unusual to see people using EVOD style kits everywhere you go. A few weeks ago I was waiting for a bus and 3 of us were vaping while 1 was smoking. Buy your kit online and go to a vape shop in your area to try out the flavours for free, find a few you like, and leave with a few bottles to get you started. The only thing you need to do with these kits is swap out the coil that sits in the middle of the top tank for a new one, every 2 weeks or so, which takes less than a minute to do. The kit in that link includes 5 of these so will be good for 2 months before you need a new pack coils for it. These kits seem to work for most helping them to quit smoking. Good luck, hope you manage it this time, and stick around to let us know it goes.

Hi eyesI reviewed the V1 PCC kit from Myepack. I think it is one of the best of this type. For a 20-30 a day smoker, I would not recommend it. Go for the evod or mini Protank kit(s) instead.

Hi eyes you sound a bit like I did 6 weeks ago wanting faff free vaping - 5 weeks later and I'm used to a bit of faff and I'm now so used to filling, charging, changing coils etc. that it takes only a couple of mins and I can even cut a few corners if I'm in a rush. As a 20-30 a day smoker I suspect like me you'll chain vape to start with, so one of my big concerns was always having to refill the tanks, I went with a Smok Aro as it had a slightly bigger capacity @ 2ml than the Evod but I do find that it leaks so whilst I like it and like the vapor it gives etc. its only something to consider if you don't mind a bit of stickiness from time to time. I probably refill the Aro tank about 2 - 3 times a day, and I always have 2 filled tanks around at any one time so I don't run dry. The 650mah starter batteries tend to last me about 4 or 5 hours before needing a recharge but they do charge back up very quickly, I'm glad I bought 2 right from the start so I always had one fully charged while the other was recharging. I've since moved on to a bigger battery which gives me 8-10 hours and am going to be upgrading again later today I've also switched to a Protank V2 which is much bigger and heavier than the Aro or Evod, but it holds more juice, doesn't leak, and l think it looks rather nice even on the slim egostyle batteries, I tend to use the Protank at home and the Aro's for out and about. One of the things about the Ego style batteries that I like is the lanyards I can get in all different colours to hang it around my neck - really useful when driving and I can colour coordinate it with my outfit and jewelry, the batteries too come in all kinds of colours. The kit Perpetua linked too is really good value as a starter though I personally don't like the Iclear 16's in the 2nd link as they vape too warm for my tastes. The 650 battery is 3" long and with my Aro tank on top it's 5" from the bottom of the battery to the top of the drip tip and about as wide around as a fountain pen.

I got this one: myepack.co.uk/protank-2.html and the airflow: myepack.co.uk/airflow-control-valve.html

Hmmm, thought I'd posted a response already, but can't see it!!
Thank you all soooooooooooooooooo much for the advice.
I think I'll start small with the evod and make sure I get extras so no chance of running out and lapsing!
Perhaps will move onto something bigger for home use - so as not to shock family/friends.
