Ahhhh, scrap that lol, I just remembered its one of my vacuum filters hehehehehe Its fine Des, you can broken record away no problem, I guess I am just still at the slightly confused stage as to what bits I need to buy at the moment. The kit I have now has a cartridge, an atomiser, and a battery, I get that, and I get that the cartomiser is the cartridge and atomiser in 1 piece rather than 2 seperate ones and will hold more fluid. Having read some FAQ's on some supplier sites, I was a little concerned to read that the atomiser will only last about 3 weeks? Or have I read that totally wrong?? I have so many questions going round in my head right now so am a bit befuddled lol

We all start that way JJ - so don't get too down about it. Just take it steady and you'll be fine. As Des states, carto's are by far the best for beginners as they allow for simpler filling and better flavour/vape. I would also recommend getting a drip tip (510) to go with a carto, remembering to remove the plug in the end. Note that metal drip tips get pretty cold in the winter, as I've found out, but you can get Delrin (plastic) ones too. Tips on how to fill carto's can be found on YouTube - just search for the 'condom' method (all will become clear).

JJ. it's kind of a case how long is a piece of string as to how long atomisers will last I'm afraid. It can be as little as just a few days or weeks or even months. As for cartomisers, they are actually meant to be disposable but can be refilled several times over & some folks extend there life by cleaning /freezing them.

Atomisers are the weakest link with most e-cig kits these days JJ. So much so, that many of the new starter kits don't even come with them anymore and instead use cartomisers. That said, if an atomiser lasts 2 weeks at say £4 each, they are still a damn site more economical than the ciggies.

Completely agree Jason . . . at the risk of also sounding like a broken record myself . . . personally I think the tendency amongst some Vapers, is to try and make disposable parts of the set up last too long and therefore they don't get the best possible vaping experience that they might if they were a little more ruthless with binning stuff once it's past its best. It gets a bit daft at times for a few quid when you think of the amount we spent on ciggies . . . but that's just my personal opinion.

I am getting more tough and ruthless with things like cartomisers (or is that rough & toothless?) As soon as the vape falls off/goes tight/tastes burnt my cartomiser or kanger goes in the bin. The only maintenance I do is clean the threads and blow through cartomisers. As you say it makes the whole thing alot more enjoyable. With the price of good carto's being less than £2 each if I get 5 days out of one (which I seem to) thats only 40p a day even less if bought on a group buy! Compare that to "nasties"

Something to be aware of (although not something you want to worry about right now) is the availability of rebuildable atomisers in varying shape and form - just add wire and wick.
They are a costly outlay at first, but may prove to be a worthwhile long term investment.
