Newbie saying Hi, ready to stop so need help :)

Hi everyone

I am finally ready to stop my filthy disgusting habit of smoking, spurred on as a result of the most recent adverts that have resulted in my daughter (nearly 9 going on 19 lol) telling me that all she wants for christmas is for me and my fella to stop smoking, so here I am

I started smoking at 13 and am now almost 45 so I appreciate a lot of damage has already been done, and also know that I should have stopped long ago given the state of my health.

I have tried patches, gum etc in the past and they didnt work for me at all, and I do not want to take champix or zyban for a couple of reasons, 1 is the fact that I already have to take several tablets on a daily basis and do not want to add anymore unnecessary drugs to the list, plus, having a history of depression Champix would be out anyway.

I know very little about e-cigs and having asked over on FHG on ebay about them I was recommended to come here, so here I am.

I smoke roll-ups, normally get through a 50g packet in 4 days

I wasn't a rolly smoker so not sure if that means you where a heavy or light smoker JJ

A lot of folks to begin with want to start off with a real cig lookalike. They are sort of Ok but no where near as good as the more cigar sized Riva/Ego type models.

I think if I am going to do this I want to buy one thats the dogs clackers straight off to be honest

I dont know if its the right way to base my usage, but, 1 normal fag contains 1 gram of tobacco, so a 50g pack is equivalent of 50 fags, but, if I smoked normal fags I would imagine I would be on about 40 a day (based on when I did smoke normal fags) )

Oh and by the way I was a 30 a day bloke and since discovering Vaping I have not had a "nasty" in over 2 years!

I'd recommend a Ego/RIVA/Tornado (all basically the same) plus cartomisers and a high Mg (36mg) juice to start.
