Nearly got caught out just now on the UKEliquid site. It appears none of the prices now include VAT. That gets added at checkout.
Was going to buy some e-liquid that is shown as £12.99 on the site. No mention about not including VAT or anything. Then it added £5 at checkout.
I emailed them and they said that is correct. It states that prices do not include VAT in the About Us page.
Watch out when ordering.

It's very similar to GAT except that 'Grizwald Added Tax' is included in the price

IMHO not being clear about VAT on a retail site is naughty!

This is common practice in the US - the sales tax is not included in the price (most annoying, as you end up with loads of change ). I much prefer it when the price you see is the price you pay.

I just checked the price of the Lavatube on there against Ecig Wizard. They both show it as £39.99, yet ECW includes the VAT in that price. I've ordered a few bits from them in the past and never noticed the extra charge. I'll have to be more vigilant in future when ordering from sites Not having a go at UK-Eliquid, more at myself for not checking. I've always had excellent service from them and was supprised more than anything that I hadn't noticed this on my other orders.

Watch out when ordering. Wow, that's pretty bad actually. They're an online retailer, ie they sell direct to consumers, and as such it's a legal requirement to display prices inc VAT, see this link: www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/Taxes/BeginnersGuideToTax/VAT/DG_190918(Even if it wasn't it would only be good customer service to do so IMHO) The only businesses that don't have to display prices inc VAT are those which only sell business to business. A kind interpretation would be to assume they're just ignorant of the regs (alternatively somebody might think they're pulling a fast one ) Either way you should drop them an email with the above link so they can make it right. One of thier (more switched on / aggressive) competitors will prob make life difficult for them at some point in the future otherwise. John

Ouch, that's a bit misleading of them Steve. I'd expect it from a Wholesaler to Business Customer or to have a breakdown of the total price including VAT on the specific item page, but to add it at checkout . . . naughty.

Prices in retail shops The prices you see advertised in shops include VAT. No tax will be added to the price when you pay. This is a legal requirement. Prices in advertisements, catalogues and price lists Products advertised in outlets, magazines, on the internet, or shown in catalogues, price lists and other literature may be aimed at the consumer, businesses, or both. If they're only meant for the general public, they'll show you a price including VAT. This is a legal requirement. If they're aimed at both consumers and businesses, they’ll usually show a VAT inclusive price, but may also show a price without VAT. The VAT inclusive price must be given equal importance, but read carefully to make absolutely certain you understand what price you'll pay. Prices aimed only at businesses are usually shown with no VAT included. VAT will be charged on top of the price shown.
For me this is the critical section that is being ignored
Edit : Just to explain that this is a cut and paste from direct.gov

i imagin its a new thing since they got the lavatube in and are selling quite a few to the states ....the tax in the states is dependent on which state you are in

John & Storm are right. If a website is aimed at selling to the consumer, all prices shown must include VAT.

Ta Chrissie it's not often I'm wrong Seriously though UK sellers are legally obliged to show their prices INCLUDING VAT if they are selling direct to the public ... Ben should be fully aware of this .. you cannot change your status to business to bussiness seller if you are still retailing to the public !! Phew .. takes a few deep breathes
