Hi Wendy
I'm fairly new to this vaping world - about 2 weeks into it now. I bought the Riva 1100 kit and I find it great. As already has been said, getting some cartomisers would be good as it will save on regularly topping up the cartidges. The cartridge and atomiser way is very useful though for trying out loads of different flavours..... and my advice is to get a good selection of juices to try, there's hundreds to choose from.
As for quitting smoking.... I was amazed that I went from smoking 30 rollies a day to about 8 the very day I started (and most of those I had just for the sake of it). I made the mistake of not getting enough juice so still smoke a few too many, but as soon as I stock up on the juices I like I know my fag count will go down.
I'm sure you'll be surprised at how vaping takes away the urge to smoke..... plus you get lovely flavours in your mouth instead of that acrid smoke !
You won't fail to get good support and advice on this forum. Wish you well

Hi Wendy and welcome :-) I have found that I so much prefer vaping to smoking, its a hobby as well as a very satisfying way to get the nic kick :-) We are all different, I didnt touch a rollie from the time my batteries were charged on my first ecig, the only thing I noticed was that I was glad I ordered lots of juice, coz the juice that came with it was ughhhh, having several nice juices is very rewarding. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Thank you all for your experiences - I was feeling quite nervous about all this.
From reading what you're all saying I don't think I've ordered enough 'juices' - I only picked 2 flavours so I'm going to order some more.
I've just had a confirmation from vapeescape that all the items i've ordered are compatible with each other and are being processed - so it shouldn't be long till i'm ready to start vaping.
Thank you for the good wishes.

Wendy, Royal Mail willing, there is a very good chance you will have your e-cig by tomorrow The batteries will come with some factory charge, so you can start vaping straight away with one battery while fully the charging the other

Greetings wendy and welcome to the forum. I was a very heavy rolly smoker and found that vaping replaced smoking immediately. I haven't smoked for almost two years now and feel so much better for it. There's loads of info on this site and plenty of members willing to offer advice as I'm sure you've already noticed. Fox

Hi from another newbie Wendy. I used to smoke cigars and bought the same kit as you, just to try it - I had no intention of quitting. Enjoyed it from my first vape and haven't had a smoke since I started two weeks ago, so it really works! Good luck and you will get plenty of help and support from the lovely people on here.

Hi Wendy wishing you a warm welcome... looks like you are well on top of the things you will need so all im left to do is wich you good luck and dont put pressure on stopping smoking as everyone has said it'll naturally happen that you wont get the cravings to need any ciggies and before you know it you'll be smoke free and loving vaping... the ciggies also become a horrid taste once your taste buds and sense of smell come back to life... which for me was the best feeling

Hello Wendy. I smoked about 30 roll ups a day for many *double figure* years and stopped instantly with my first vape. Strangely, I don't like the tobacco flavours!! IMHO, no one can exactly replicate every tobacco flavour on the market, though some get pretty near. I used to smoke cutter's choice gold, which is a very mild and mellow tobacco that most people probably have never heard of! With so many tempting flavours available in juice, (e cigarette liquid) you're bound to find loads that you like!

The reason I'm asking is because I have an appointment at the doctors for quitting smoking advice and support (I live in cambridge & its called Camquit) - they go through options for NRT and also medication - so I just wondered if i would need medication as well. Hi Wendy and welcome The thing with 'quit smoking by doctor' is that it puts you under pressure, unwittingly but nevertheless. The little braincells arrange themselves in 'expectation mode'. You don't have that problem with e-cigs, whenever you want you can and without regrets. Makes life so much more fun. I had trouble not to go over 60/day and then e-cigs got me down to less than a pack basically over night. I still smoke but that has to do with the situation I put myself in and the stress that's coming with it.
