[if you look towards the top of the clearo Ah, erm, um... It doesn't help that what I call the top other people call the bottom But I think I see what you mean now Perpy, it's just me and my mental blocks. I've been expecting something to click for months, but I don't think it will because it doesn't have to, I've got fall-backs, if you see what I mean Need to be right up against it, atty-wise.

OK, I hate to admit defeat,so I tried to use the Gordy/ Ian method. On my ones (they are the XL's) the seal with the tiny filler holes is black for some reason. No matter how hard I tried I could not get it out! Perhaps a heavier duty tool than a paperclip is necessary!

I always use a small phillips screwdriver for such jobs Dave.I find if you just lift the bung up with such an implement it lifts off perfectly.Infact i use my small screwdrivers on a daily basis for all the crazy tasks that are vaping related

A fine(ish) metal crochet hook is my vaping instrument of choice Dave.

The black caps I've had fit over the white one and is just a seal. I take the white one out and just put the black one back, smooth side up with a drip tip.

The black seal has filling holes in it, but there is something white underneath it - perhaps I should try a more determined assault on it with a screwdriver tomorrow - alas I can't lay my hands on a crochet hook but it sounds like the ideal tool!

Well, full on determined assault this morning. The OH found me a stitch unpicking tool, I also attacked it with a small screwdriver. Still couldn't get the ***$$%5!*** seal out! However I did manage to seriously disturb it and it is now at a drunken angle with bits flaking off it and the top of the case is bent out! Unbelievably it is now vaping OK in fairly short bursts, with the added bonus that I managed to get a decent drip tip on it. I don't think I am going to go through this again anytime soon! Since you asked Ian, I will pm you when I put the rest of them up for swaps (I need to sort out a few other things to go as well) Thanks again for everyone's help - the forum that keeps on giving

An update. My modded (i.e. smashed up!) clearomizer is going great guns! In fact I have been using it nearly all day and am half way through a refill. Much to my amazement I have been really enjoying it - in fact is as good as anything I have tried (albeit a bit hit and miss) and I would have to say I prefer it to the tank/carto system I have (the challenger), which is just a bit "watery" for me. So, major backtrack and a complete re-think - I may have to persist with these ???

You've probably pulled the notched bung up a tad it may have been crimping the wick, so now it's not restricted it vapes better.
