I've got some CE2 clearomizer XL's. Managed to fill one (bit of a faff), let it soak for a good while then had a go with it. First couple of vapes were OK then it gave quite a nasty burnt taste so put it away. Left it for a day and tried again. Same thing - a couple of OK vapes then nasty taste again. Have I just got a duff one or is there something I could be doing wrong? Experience/ advice much appreciated

If you are using a thick VG heavy juice then that'll be your problem, they don't wick thick juices fast enough.

Thanks Blakey, but I used a PG juice Then it sounds like the wick has burnt, maybe try leaving them a bit longer to soak on the first fill, I couldn't get on with them myself, they never wicked fast enough for me.

With clearomisers you have to keep a good flow of juice running up to the coil otherwise you get a burnt taste. Two options that will remedy your problem are.1 keep turning the clearomiser upside down after every couple of tokes to aid wicking(To much faff for me )2.Hold your device at a similar angle as you would have done when you smoked a ciggy, this keeps a constant flow of juice heading towards the coil and you will get a perfect hit every time. Its the only way i could use clearomisers to keep them wicking without any burnt hits,i find the RTA is the same to.

Hmmm I use them, keep a few juices in some and pick them up when I fancy vaping one of those flavours. I have not had a burnt taste, and I have not had one die on me, I have the latge ones and the ultimate tiny ones. I love the flavour these give so use them quite ofeten. Have you tried cleaning them Dave? Washing them out and starting again?

I love Clearo's . . . especially in a Arry Tank, but I do always give the juice a swoosh round every few drags to keep the coil & wicks wet . . . they last me about a month in a tank.

Thanks all, so basically the way to go is to vape them lying on my back, while giving them the odd swoosh Well, I will persist a bit longer with them! How do use them in a tank Perpetua? Do they stand up to having a nail bashed into them?

No nails or holes required with the clearomiser tanks mate :)You simply connect the clearomiser to your mod/battery,wiggle off the tube and then push the innards into the tank. You get a larger capacity of around 4-5ml and the wick has more room which helps wicking a little.

what i do is take out the white seal from the top and cut slightly larger slots that go over the wick. remember to align the seal correctly when replacing and dont push too far down..... they are fiddly and very hit and miss but once you get them working they give a great vape

Well I had another go, but I still couldn't get on with it. I modified the approach to lean back and swoosh but still couldn't get a decent vape. I have found a number of other things I like so will stick to those for now and put the rest of these in the swappable items drawer!

I would do a swap with you Dave if you cant get on with them. Are they the small clearos or XLs you are using?I know the smaller ones are notorious for not wicking so well, ive heard many people say they cant get on with them. What Gordy says is rite, there are two slits which you line up with the wick, take scissors and cut the two slots a little more and put your bung back on.It does help wicking and i forgot to mention it as ive always done that anyway.I still need to tilt my device to get the best wicking even after cutting the slots.Basically the coil is at the top of the clearomiser so if you hold your device downwards the juice cannot wick fast enough upwards to the coil. Its all down to gravity with these top coil atomisers/cartomisers IMHO.
