If it's for personnel use davetherayon i would skip the fuse, i did on my latest mod. Only real risk is if you put the battery in the wrong way, put it in correct and you should be good to go for many years to come. p.s don't forget the epoxy, that stuff is a god send, this stuff is really good: Quick set and Slow setThe fuse will not protect against reverse battery protection as they are far too slow Oops, the way i have worded my post makes it sound like a fuse would protect the battery which it won't. Basically i was trying to say skip the fuse and just don't change batteries pi$$ed

Got just about everything now. Made a tiny bit of epoxy and glued the DNA30 OLED lead to the board (where it joins - there's a tiny gap there, just asking to be glooed), thanks for the tip. Only waiting for the friggin' box from FT, sigh. I did toy with the idea of asking the boss @work to make a case out of wood - he's an accomplished wood turner - but since he doesn't even know I vape it may be a bit of a foo par on my part.

I'm going to try and fit one of Seedy's spring loaded 510 connectors, the box may need to be tapped as not a lot of room for the nut, but if it doesn't fit I may make an sx mod later this year and could use it in that (not the 200 W version they are bringing out in December as to much for 18650 IMO).

Update... so with FT still not on the horizon and having seen some videos of wood box mods I had a conversation with the boss, and he's good to make a basic mod box in similar dimensions, essentially a block of rosewood hollowed out with a separate rosewood panel. I will then have a bit of fun with the Dremel making holes for the 510, display, vent, buttons, and usb. Quite looking forward to the project, the Dremel has been used for the square root of naff all since I bought it.

2 weeks after ordering and it's arrived. Fasttech dna30 enclosure, 510, switches, wires (which I'll replace with AWG20/22 as appropriate), battery box, and a cover for the electronics. Time to get into building mode!

Outer recess hole 22.86 mm Inner recess hole 12.77 mm 510 inner width 8.20 mm Edit : the weird white line in the middle isn't some cheap 510 connector shiz, it's me accidentally drawing a white line using Paint. I haz photoshop skillz.

The electrics are straight forward, the DNA I made previously the box was 95% of the work and must have taken over 40 hours so tapping a pre-made box will be like a holiday even if the mod is 50% bigger. It's mainly for a backup/second VW mod.

I got by box yesterday at about 1 PM nearly finished the build and snapped the screen, so got to wait on a replacement. on genuine board, bugger + reverse battery protection + buttons recessed and extra 1.1 mm + copper hot spring + fibre optic for the charging light ? magnetic cover retaining, probably after a week or two (was going to put in a fancy 510, but would have need to buy a tap (£10, mail order, £40 ordered form biggest tool shop round here) its such an unusual pitch.) The fire and battery leads are already connected to the board with high temp extra flexible 20 agw, which is the worst job it's hard getting it in the holes.
