The fatdaddyvapes 510 connector has just shipped from modmaker, so the penultimate piece of this very long jigsaw is almost here. Next up got some feeler gauges coming (oo-er) so I can than get the right size tap bit to drill out the hole. So close...

Posting on AAEC has magical qualities The connector AND gauges arrived today, and the 510 turns out to be M10 1.0MM right-hand threading. Tap ordered.

Still a slightly unusual pitch, but far more usual the the VariTube M10 x 0.5 mm.  (M10 is usually 1.5 mm pitch, 1 mm pitch is normally called "fine")

It is VapingBad. It should fit nicely in the Hana clone box, just need to be very careful when I come to cut the thread, don't want it sticking out at 45 degrees or owt, and don't have a G-clamp to hold the bit in position.

davetherayon you could hold some flat things (EG 6" plastic rulers) against the sides while you tap for a visual guide to help keep you true.

Finished the 'Frankenstein' DNA 30 Hana Clone Clone. Milling out the 10mmx1.0 hole for the Fatdaddy didn't cause any problems. However the main thread is too short for the box so the large retaining nut isn't usable. Not a problem. Pretty quick to finish there, but positioning things especially the OLED! proved to be a real pain in the posterior. Using the double sided sticky tape method for the OLED.

There's a little silicone sealant in the mod, but all connectors are held in place with epoxy. It's still a bit of a mess and the OLED is a little off centre.

My OLED is about 1 mm off toward the top, they are a PITA, Evolv could make your life a lot easier if they marked the lit up area on the back of the screen (otherwise you need to power the board up to see it, its not the centre)

Certainly, though they ain't beauties!

Outside just another DNA30 Hana clone but at least it has a fatdaddyvapes 510 (covered up).



Inside, eek. the yellow stuff to the right are the PTCs, most of the gunk you see is slow setting araldite. The board is at an angle with the OLED stuck below it. It's actually adjustable with a bit of patience, good light and ceramic tweezers.



It's fugly, but it works
