We did, but it bit us on the arse, no sign of a dodgy knee when I saw him tear us apart... Same happened with Remy because of his heart and it hasn't stopped him banging them in. Seems other teams have better insurance companies than us! We chased Riviere for 18 months, was supposed to sign in January last year, then Falcao got injured to they delayed it, then just when we thought we'd got the deal done, the French Revolution stepped in and hijacked it! Hope he fails miserably Oh well, did I mention we got Bojan?

Watched the Man U game - if ever a man needed taking down a peg or two it's van gaal, so I was delighted with that result! Now watching spurs v west ham thanks to the internet (well, watching a slide show because it's a really bad stream). We've started brightly, COYS! and come on Palace too

I should know f*cking better. Time served, dyed in the wool. Why did I let myself believe? We were shit today. Villa fully deserved to beat us.

Cannot believe our `has been`s` have beaten Stoke 1-0. 3 points less to get too avoid relegation.
Still early days, but I am happy.

To start with I am a Villa Fan & what a great result, especially at Stoke where it is a hard place to go anyway. Well I won 2 Tickets to see Man Utd v Swansea in the executive lounge to start with and a 3 course meal, I wanted to sell them on but I got told that they where none transferable (Not Good) me and my other half set off at 9am this morning and on the way there they decided to close the M6 both ways (Not Good) We missed the 3 course meal, missed the first half, watched the second half, crossed the road and had a pizza and came home - what a total waste of a day

Shame you missed it for a shit trip to The Shit. Villa set up to shut us out, kill the game and counter attack, but as soon as you realised that we weren't at the races at all, you pushed forwards and looked dangerous every attack. We weren't helped by Shawcross, Bardsley and Wilson especially having very bad games. The few attacks that we had in 70 minutes were bread and butter for your defence, Diouf couldn't play off Senderos the way we all expected and Vlaar had a stormer, made some superb blocks from Bojan shots, who impressed me and looks a decent player, needs to toughen up though. We looked more dangerous once Crouch came on. He recognised Senderos as your weaker CB and sat on his shoulder, he managed to bring the wingers into play and get us some chances, but it was too little too late. Shows that experience in the league means everything, Diouf will have to learn fast if he wants to be the answer for our goal scoring issues. Villa going down? Team full of "has beens" and "not good enough" youngsters? Poor manager? Not on what I've seen this afternoon, safe as houses in mid-table if you can play like that every week. Stoke were poor, very poor, and that obviously helped as we didn't even get started. But Villa had a very good game and got it spot on tactically. Fully deserved the win. Good luck for the season, we'll have to make do with another 4-1 at Villa Park to make up for today

It's early doors everyone - you can't tell anything from the first game, it's just good to have it out of the way for most players!
I saw all of the spurs v hammers game except the important bits as minionian had a grizzle throughout the penalty, the sending offs and the goal. I hope she's not going to be an arsenal fan, it'll break my heart! At least I've got match of the day to look forward to...

Going to have to support Derby in England now. Just realised my former pupil Johnny Russell is playing for them. Hope they manage to get promoted!! Gogo Johnny!

I can't wait for MotD2 tonight Something tells me Eric Dier is going to be quite a player for us. I'm chuffed to see Kaboul picked by Poch and lasting the full 90 too, he'd be my favourite defender since Mabbutt were it not for some bloke by the name of King. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards
