New wonder wicking material!

I heard of a new wicking material just coming out, it's totally organic, inexpensive to obtain and even better, apparently you can make it yourself from scratch!

So I got some of this stuff today, and got right down to wicking with it. It's a bit stringy in texture, seems to channel moisture well, but the fibres are quite large compared to cotton or rayon. How would it fare in a dripper build?

Here's the test dripper (2 coil) with the potential wonder wick stuff on it.



Loaded it up with RA, popped it atop the Cana and fired it up. Wowee! There was vapour aplenty, so much that I didn't have time to even toot it before having to check it out. It had absorbed all the RA in one few seconds!



I was pretty impressed at how much of the juice had been vapourised, but on the downside, it looked a bit carbonised around the coils. Maybe I threaded it a bit too thin, it may need more, or perhaps a chimney build a la Kayfun with lots of wick will be better.

So that's my mini-review. I hope you enjoyed it, and get to test this new potentially marvellous material, that you can even get from your own garden!

As an Onion importer i'm seriously interested in this. At the end of today I will take home a tonne of Onions and wick all my atties for testing, will report back later, this could be a serious market for us that we have missed. In august I will also try with our pickled onions.
