There's some real scum out there

Got home friday and picked up the post as I walked through the door, one of the letters was from tesco bank approving a loan for £9532, money would be paid into my account in 3 working days it said. Letter was dated 3 days previous
I called tesco bank and after god knows how long trying to figure it out I was informed that some low life piece of sh*t had applied for a loan in my name using my address but their bank account
Sorted it now but it means that although my credit rating will return to what it was prior to this any loan or credit arrangement that I make from now will take longer to complete for obvious reasons
These people care nothing about the stress and anger they force onto folk in pursuit of money, what could something like this do to someone with a heart condition

Jeeeez, how did they manage that? My bank flag up irregulaterties within mins ( I know because I had reason to make a large payment overseas and got an email questioning and asking for a security clearance to release funds inside 30 mins)

My dad is very carefull about his info shreds documents etc and always makes sure sites are https, but last year his account was stung for 2k.
Took him about 10 days to get money back he had to prove it wasn't him they had cloned his card at a garrage.
When it happened he was in Ireland so had proof it wasn't him, how fraud detection didn't pick it up I'll never know as they blocked my card at local sainsburys once ( same place we shop most weeks) as apparently it was a unroutine purchase lol
Thieving scum like that should be locked up for a bloody long time with hard labour

sadly it is the society we live in at the moment no one has any respect for anyone else at the moment society has gone mad its been a change for the worst im afraid


however saying that all the good members of society seem to gather in the one place HERE and long may it live I have total respect for every last one of youse on here we seem to be a lovely tight knit community on here that looks out for each other and I would love to think it will stay that way

Its a weird loan amount isn't it? Luckily my credit rating is so bad, I don't think i have to worry. Made me think though. How do they fix the machines if the garage attendant is there watching you do the transaction? I just filled my car up today

it does sound like a ten grand loan - document fee processing fee and first months payment I bet that is how they have got to that figure

Horrible happening, blakey, really glad that it's sorted, but absolutely sickening that it actually happened or could happen.
Shysters want it & will take it any way they can, but so much for bank fraud detection.

Sorry to hear that blakey, yes they are scum and deserve more than a 'slap on the wrist' if they're ever caught.

Can't help but think though that this 'cyber' crime / fraud, whatever you call it, is a manifestation of what the 'big boys', especially the Banks, have been doing for years. They see them ripping everyone off for millions, with no 'individual' victim, and think they'll jump in the 'dirty pool' and get their own reward by playing them at their own game.

Unfortunately, they cannot rig the markets, so it is the 'individual' that gets targetted and burned. The little guy gets shafted once again, while the big boys just carry on.

Must have been some pretty crappy 'checking' by the bank to not be able to link your address to the account number provided, considering the technology and information that's passed between them... probably thinking about the commission they'd lose.

Also, I will never use a 'hole in the wall' machine that is an open public space and therefore is not monitored for someone installing a 'card reader'... I always use 'cash back' at the supermarket.

The scum bags approach the attendant and offer him some cash if he rigs the machine. They give him the hardware, which I believe is quite easy to get, to install in the card reader. They then decrypt the codes & duplicate them. Happened in a garage local to me a while ago.
