I am begining to realise that unlike analogue cigs, you don’t tend to stick to one thing, the variety is endless and I am already seeing the enjoyment of different set ups.

They should work on your battery. Perhaps the problem is there. Can you test it on something else to see if it's fully charged and working properly?

reddragon... This is my take on this... Take any advice you feel comfy with, if you like carto's then get carto's .. if you want tanks then get tanks, personally i would stay away from them for now, keep it simple but reasonably effective which if you like carto's you will get from boges, at a later date when you gather a little more knowledge then think about vari volts and tanks, I really dont see how getting thrown in at the deep end could possibly help anyone, i have friends that have come on to forums just like this one and have been scared off by all the techno kit and jargon.. suffice to say they said sod that and stayed on ciggies, ...Choice is yours i guess

Now now boys, please don’t fall out on my behalf   I am more than happy with all the advice received, I think I have the best of both worlds, some fancy kit that I can grow into and learn about, and some cartomizers to quench my thirst for variety now. 
When I bought the greensmoke kit I was trying to replace the bad of smoking whilst keeping the good that I enjoy, and so I wanted it to replicate smoking, which vanilla and doublemint certainly are not!! We live and learn and already I have learned that looking to replicate smoking is not necessary the way to go as I am quickly learning that there is so much more to vaping than merely tobacco replacement.

The cartos (lingo for cartomisers) may have been used and cleaned but still good for at least another few refills each.
