Hi everyone,

New member and new vaper (is that what I am now?) here. I took the plunge 3 weeks ago and have not had an analogue cig since 

I thought I had done a bit of research but it appears not! I bought a greensmoke set up and to be honest it suits me fine, is very cig like and I like their tobacco flavours. However, their non tobacco flavours are limited, who knew I would be looking for non tobacco flavours?

So since the greensmoke is not really compatible with anything, I bought some 510 cartomizers and an adaptor to connect to my greensmoke battery. It kind of works but I have to hold the connection together (a bit like when your filter snapped off an cig!!) 

So I thought I would buy a 510 battery to use with flavoured cartomisers. I bought a ego-t 650 and I like the size, however, as it is a manual battery I am sure I am missing something as I can’t get it to fire up. The battery is charged, the light comes on when I hold the button down but there is nothing happening. It is not the cartomisers as these work kind of with the greensmoke battery.

Is there anything I am missing? I have tried lifting the pin in the centre but nothing seems to be connecting. I have the cloud9vaping 510 turbo cartomizers which I thought would be compabile with the ego-t.

Please be gentle with me as I am very new to this and all the lingo is baffling :-) I am hoping to get a solution to this without spending much more money!!

I dont know these bits of kit but reading their website it sounds like you have compatible gear, I would suggest contacting cloud9 and asking them, although I'm sure someone more knowledgable than I will be on soon with an answer (unless they're all on their way to Vapefest)

I would say the cartomizers are not compatible with the ego-t 650......without sounding rude but do yourself a favour and buy a better kit, long term you will get your money back in no time considering how much ciggs costs.

Hi reddragon not the best time to ask for advice as a lot of members are away at vapefest but I will try to help. I think green smoke cartonmisers aren't compatible with any other batteries. As you have an ego 650 now the choice is much more but you will need another clearo and juice. I would suggest any protank mini and any juice you fancy. Later you can expand on this but you have done really well to stay off the stinkies on a cig-a-like.

Welcome to the forum reddragon, you will find lots of helpful folks here no matter the problem. I'm no expert myself, I only switched to vaping in June, but I have to wonder if your battery is faulty as you say it refuses to fire up.
I am sure someone much more experienced than me will be along soon to advise. Meanwhile, hang in there and well done for making the switch.

Well done on being stinkies free you have taken the big leap congrats.
The peeps hear are the best and will help all they can.
I would suggest longer term looking at a Vv/vw device but get a protank mini and some different juices to try.

Thanks for the replies, I am holding down the button when I am taking a puff but nothing, I get a feint taste of the juice but no vapour at all. I will look at those kits in more detail later but they look like they are clearomisers and personal preference, I prefer the cartomisers so was hoping to stick to them.

You may find the threads are much shorter on the cartomisers than the ego battery needs. Compare the length of the carts threads and center pin with depth of the ego connector...It might be shorter as a guess.

Can't help with cartos I'm afraid. I have some but don't really use them. There quite dated technology these days although some still like and use them.

Only one thing to add. The cartos may not be making a connection with the battery so might be worth trying to lift the pin like this.

Hi reddragon welcome to AAEC.
As you bought 510 carto's and a 510 battery it should work.
The only reason I can see it not working is if the centre pin of the carto is not touching the centre pin of the battery.

Take a look at the carto and see if the centre pin is flush with the threads.



The above is not a carto but it works just the same. If the pin in the centre doesn't touch that flat battery pin, it wont fire.
If it is a case of that pin hiding above the line of the threads then you could try to pull it down a bit in some way, it only needs to be flush with the threads and it should make a contact.

Failing that buy a protank2 mini and some flavoured e-liquid, and a few replacement atomizers so you can change them over once a week. Youll get a better vape from it im sure.
