at some point you are going to give in and buy a mech mod i know it you know it everybody knows it Yep, confirmed this morning by myself - I'm weak!! I'm converted to sub-ohm dual-coil on a mech and the difference is chalk and cheese. Doing the maths, assuming a fully charged battery I'me vaping at 29.4watts (gulp!!) and really loving it. My fogger is very airy so lung inhales all the way. I'm so happy I could....... BUY MORE, Lots more Guess you can all see what I'm gonna be raving about for the next couple of weeks

I have a mech now guys, just only 15 amp 18650's and my 350's are too short for it. Think it needs a spacer or something.. Will get a better 18650 next pay day lol. I was just wondering if I'd see a difference with dual say 3 ohm coils as opposed to a single 1.5 ohm coil.?

Ruffie as long as they a good make you should be ok at .8 ohm with the 650,s i think thats 7 wraps of .25(parallel so more like 14 cause you bend 2 lengths of wire at same time) you cant go much lower with the kayfuns as they can only wick so fast and i did run at .8 on 350,s but it didnt do them much good 3ohm is a bit high ive never been there i lkes my little tanks at 1.8 /1.3 ish my kayfuns at about.8 (ill use a red efest 18650) and my helios at .2(sony vt4,s only)

Thanks decoy I will have to try going a little lower. I guess again my question. Would a dual coil setup be any better than the single coil setup at around the same resistance ( about 1. Ohm'ish)

A duel coil setup covers more of the wick and halfs the resistance so yes and no should get more vape/flavor will eat you juice

Kind of strange, Ive not come across a mech that doesn't have enough adjustment to fit batteries.
Hold on I just thought, has the mech got a 'kick ring', if it does this needs to come off for the batteries to fit without a kick. They can be hard to see sometimes if its attached to the topcap or switch.
I usually leave the switch tight and adjust the top pin, if you loosen the switch they can work themselves apart over short time and fly apart on you.

I was just wondering if I'd see a difference with dual say 3 ohm coils as opposed to a single 1.5 ohm coil.? Ruffie If you PM me your address I'll post you some spacer magnets tomorrow, I have had flat top 18350 be too short and either use a magnet or make a new positive pin from a brass machine screw M4 or M5 normally. Dual coil is great when you are pushing the wicking on a single wick, but I wouldn't see the point above an ohm unless it's not wicking well (or small diameter coil). For your example I would guess you would get more vapor, less flavour and less throat hit than a single. I don't know what atty you are using, but Kayfun I use 1 - 1.5 ? (0.32 - 0.4 kanthal) on a mech, some other tanks may be nice lower, but that is getting into genesis, dripper or sqwonk territory and with these dual coils really start to shine plus you get through buckets of juice (lower your nic). Drippers and squwonker will go mental low as you can bathe them in liquid, not my thing, prefer the flavour & lush vape of a genesis. Also I wouldn't go below an ohm with a 18350, some are safe, but they just don't have the grunt (high internal resistance) and don't last any time at all. I don't use my 10 A 18650s under an an ohm as the 30 A gives a noticeably better vape even though 10 A is safe down to 0.42 ?. Its all subjective and YMMV.
