Wasn't sure where to post this as it's not a straight diy mixology question so hope it's ok here Has anyone here used 8 bit vape before? I really want to find a creamy and full of flavour Butterscotch angel delight type eliquid, and the only place I could see one is on Triphammers site (had just ordered a 5ml sample before I then found 8 Bit Vape). This site lets you create your own mixes - but I'm confused about quantities and strengths of flavourings ??? So - I obviously choose Butterscotch (Cupcake World), but which type of cream do I add? They have Bavarian Cream (Kandi Hed), Creamy Milk (Kandi Hed), Dulce De Leche (TPA), Fresh Cream (Kandi Hed), Milksake Base (Big Juice) or Sweet Cream (TPA)? Also, would I need to add any caramel/custard flavour or extra sweetner? Or would this sort of mix not require added sweetner ? I'm so confused and no nothing about concentrates with regard to which companies make the best ones!! Perpetua I'm tagging you as I see you make a lot of your own mixes and have great knowledge!!! Any advice anybody.....pleeeease?

You cant go far wrong with any of the TPA options but I'm sure Perpetua will be along to share her mixing wisdom, I'm a relative beginner with this mixing malarkey. I be back in the thread though to ogle perps in her nurses uniform

Thanks Greg - any advice on strength of flavouring? So many eliquids I've tried are lacking in depth of flavour which is why I want to try doing it this way.

spacey your best bet would be have a little hunt through the recipe sections in mixology to get an idea for flavour %. All recipes show flavour % and manufacturer so it's a good starting point. From there it's really trial and error to tweak to your taste.

I've just had a look at their site and to be honest it is harder to mix there than it is in real life, if you can make sense of their website you will be able to mix your own without ANY trouble

I thought I would be taking the easier option doing it via their site instead of venturing into diy, but I just got so confused....I thought I was being really thick!! It's just the whole Maths thing - it just makes my brain hurt looking at percentages of bases and flavourings etc. Plus how to then get the nic content I want by dividing stuff = Aaargghhh

Once you get started its REALLY easy, I was mixing at 6mg nic but then realised that 7.2mg is a much nicer number, I now know that I can use:
1ml (72mg) nicbase PG 2ml PG 5ml VG 2ml assorted concentrates
and I will end up with 10ml 7.2mg 50PG/VG50 juice

Thanks Greg - have had a look at the calculator. Hmmmm Q - you made it really simple I honestly didn't think it could be! It's the 72mg base and then some say 54mg base that's confusing me - is it just differnt companies that have different mg bases? Perhaps I'll pass on trying to use 8 Bit Vape and have a proper go myself. Mods - I'm sorry - I didn't intend this as a 'mixing' thread or I would have posted it in Mixology - but now I'm swaying that way...

We tend to use 72mg base because its the cheaper option, you then mix it down to the strength you want, using my method above if you wanted 14.4mg you would just up the nic base to 2ml and drop the PG to 1ml, everything else stays the same, its that easy

spacey the mixing calc lets you just put the base nic you have in and then calculates it all for you. So simple especially if like me you ordered the wrong nic to start with and had to combine to a weird strength. Almost finished using that up now so it's 72mg all the way soon lol.

spacey . . . CCW's Butterscotch is very nice, but also very weak in flavouring ( for my tastes ) . . . . I use at least 30% to get a full Butterscotch flavour coming through. I'd be more inclined to use TPA's French Vanilla Deluxe & some Vanillin to give you the creamy flavour you're after . . . and maybe a dash of Caramel. I'll move your thread to Mixology, as it would really be easier to do as Q has suggested. You could perhaps use this recipe as an alternative? Hope it was worth the wait Greg.
