At the front of my house there is a small front garden that i want to just make it look better, i want to dig up all the weeds and flatten the surface ready for a membrane (to stop weeds) and fill the above with these: HB Beach Pebbles Grade 40 Maxi Bags It says one bag will do: Coverage: 1 pack covers 0.4 sq m All that 0.4 sqm goes right over my head so can anyone help to tell me how many bags i will need? Here is a rough diagram of the areas i need to cover: Maths has and will always be my worst nightmare Help

I might be waaaay out but I make that area 8.27sq metres, which means that at coverage of 0.4sq m per bag, you'll need a lot of bags.......20.675 I think, which works out to be £175.53 I so hope I'm wrong

Tbh they are ruddy expensive we just had our back garden landscaped had 8 crane bags of Devon red delivered for £550 You need approximately 2 crane bags at a depth of 45 mm. www.bournemouthaggregates.co.uk/index.html. 1.5 ton load from here is a good price

Sorry Super-Shiny, I've just done the areas again........and it's still 8.27 square metres, unless you've stuck a 0 or two on those measurement! And if one bag does less than 1/2 a square metre, it's going to be, well, loads. That isn't really a 'small' front garden........1.5m x 1.5m is small.....ish and you'd still need 5.6 bags for that. The bags are too small.......... Hopefully I'm still wrong I'm still very

I make it 9.02 square meters so 22.55 bags = about £190 Is there no quarries round your way Super-Shiny, I got 15 ton of gravel up here for about £250, and 15 ton is a lot believe me. Might struggle to get those smooth pebbles but the stuff I got from a quarry you could buy from home base etc and it would have cost about £1500 there jog on Homebase

Why don't you just go to the beach once a day and fill a bag or two up, much cheaper

Get down too Chesil Beach near Weymouth at night with a Flat Bed Transit and help yourself! You'll even be able to choose the pebble size dependant on where you go along it's length. Opps toots beat me to it!

linkThis is nearly the same, and 1 bulk bag should easily cover it to a depth of 4cm. They say free delivery.....haven't checked to where! And a bulk bag is £120 A couple of ideas, there are even sellers on eBay
