I am glad this conversation came up as it will help a lot of people and if it hadn't someone might have still used a 2A supply and we all know the results of that but at least we all know and agree now 1) use a ego charger that is rated at 100ma - 480ma 2) use a wall adapter that is rated at 500ma max 3) don't leave unattended 4) if charger or battery gets hot unplug and don't use 5) don't overcharge 6) don't overdischarge don't wait for ego to blink everytime recharge when power drops stay safe if in doubt ask don't take risks I would rather explain for hours than see a mishap it is posts like this that remind everyone

Just to add, due to the fact the batteries we're using suffer no memory effect they can be charged and removed from the charger at any point. So if you're charging at bed time just remove them from the charger and continue in the morning.

Well said ronaldo - for those of us lesser mortals for whom elecktrickery is hidden in the mists of ignorance, we need chaps like you to remind us about these things in simple language. I've just checked the OH's eGo charging setup, and it's all within your parameters. Thanks for posting my friend

spinners mvp and all other batteries that have pass through that work with a mini USB lead can be charged the same way through a wall socket adapter and I recommend the same wall socket adapter should be used 500ma max however some people like to charge them off there computer and if you do this please make sure that the USB socket on your computer is USB2 as that will regulate it correctly ********************NEVER EVER CHARGE ANYTHING WITH A USB3 SOCKET **************************** for mods with removable batteries I recommend removing batteries and replacing with a fully charged battery there is a lot of good chargers out there now for removable batteries Nitecore Xtar E-fest personally I would stick with one of these three and I prefer them in this order there is a cheap alternative out there Trustfire - 001 as much as I cannot recommend the batteries the chargers do really work well *****************AVOID CHARGERS WITH THE TWO SWING DOWN LEGS THAT REQUIRE A ADAPTER ********** and never leave any batteries on charge without supervision lets all make our hobby as safe as we can and spread the information around as much as it is needed a quick note on batteries don't buy batteries with the name fire in them they are not rated as high as they say on them I will not go into to much about replaceable batteries on this post as there is plenty already on here but please take note and avoid fire as I personally wouldn't put them in a torch

The other (which I specifically bought for my MVP's off a site that I usually hold in high regard) says DC 5v 1A. Am now really worried I've damaged my MVP's by using it to charge them? What are the consequences of using this wall charger? Thanks

The 500ma is fine for ego type batteries the 1a socket won't damage your vtr but I don't recommend using it regularly as it will create to much heat I would stick to the 500ma myself stay safe always

Karma i have now completed my tests on this hub that you linked to nice cheap price nice fast delivery right I took it to work and if this is plugged into a computer I have tested the socket output and on my model every socket was 482ma so I was very impressed and I would be happy to use it myself when unplugged from computer and connected to wall socket all sockets went up to 506ma I was very impressed with it so I did a full test and filled every socket with a ego charger connected to ego 650ma batteries and every socket showed 463ma so I was very happy I would recommend one of these as a charger for all ego /spinners /twists and similar type batteries thanks for bringing this to my attention very good find I have since done a lot of commercial tests on this hub to complicated to go through on a forum like this and I would be happy to recommend them the hub does what we need it to do

ronaldo see my thread here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/44753/charging-higher-capacity-ego-batteries?page=1&scrollTo=780178I've just checked and the stuff I'm using is as follows: wall charger 1 : Input 100 -240v 100 mAh output: 5.0v 700 mAh wall charger 2: Input 90-264v output: 5.0v 500mAh both ego usb charger leads are: input 5v 500mAh output: 4.2v 420mAh So I shouldn't really use the wall adapter thats rated 700mAh? I bought BOTH from the same B&M shop and they were sold to me with my ego batteries as specifically for charging ego's safely. Can you recommend me a supplier of decent wall chargers and ego leads? Starting to think now that the issues I've had with my spinners and now the clover are charger related after all. The hub that you looked at runs off the mains without needing a pc connection? So would that be a good choice to charge several batteries at the same time and all I need is a couple more leads?
