Inspiration and ideas for recipes

I have a few sites I go to for when I am looking for inspiration for new mixes. Not eliquid recipe sites but real recipe sites for Desserts, Cocktails & Tobaccos.
Recently I have been using a cocktail site and an app (not linked to each other) for ideas and think they are both excellent.

The site I use a lot is www.barnonedrinks.com/drinks/by_ingredient/ You can search by category or ingredient and they have by far the most comprehensive cocktails and drinks recipes I have found to date.

The app I have been using is itunes.apple.com/us/app/8-500+-drink-cocktail-recipes/id297650041?mt=8 which has over 8500 drinks and cocktail recipes and is free to download. It also has a neat little random recipe function.

For Tobacco mix ideas I use www.tobaccoreviews.com/browse

So I was wondering eliquid recipe sites aside, do any of you use other sites to get inspired when mixing?

...I appear to have no natural inspiration for mixing which is odd as I do graphic design all the time and seem to have decent ideas but juice mixing? I'm clueless

Also regularly browse for ideas here as the mix section is great for inspiration.

I just conjure things up in my head and lick taste each concentrate if i am unsure of the potency and taste to get a rough idea on the concentrate and throw it all into a mix and wait and see

I call it SLAT (Sniff - Lick - and Taste)

I'm the same no idea whatsoever.

Apart from custard I stick to one shot concentrates, I just have no imagination at all

hehe in some ways i use this method as well.
I allways taste thd neat concentrates  and say im mixing avnew rec up ill add a drop of each to a finger and taste gives annidea of what overpowers what etc warning this can blow your tastebuds into orbit

A taste test once mixed is a must.

Mainly from browsing recipes Mark . . . it's best if I don't have the exact concentrates used, then it makes me think about what I do have and how I could adapt/tweak the recipe.

Good to know my neat concentrate Lick Test seems to be gaining in popularity.

I do taste test pure concentrates too, but I think Rom meant tasting the finished mix which I also do.

To be fair though I don't think either is really a good indication of what the juice will taste like when its vaped for me, but both are good indicators of strength.

Agreed . . . and I do both as well Mark.


I just found it helpful, especially at the neat concentrate stage to get a vague idea of their potency, as smell can be deceptive. I've had some lovely smelling flavours/eliquids, that have been very disappointing when vaped.

Nothing to do with mixing, but retrosweets is a great site for bringing back those nostalgic memories of sweets long forgotten, and this can give some ideas for mixing up some great flavours.
