Missed it last night. Will watch it later tonight I hope. Hard to see anything when the rest of the family have a stranglehold on the remote. Expecting better than Smith but not reaching the heights of Tennant. Just hope he brings something unique to the Character.

Peter Capaldi is one of my favourite actors, during his sweary blitzkrieg in The Thick of It and In the Loop. Jenna Coleman is a little minx. The other cast members in episode 1 of Capaldi Doctor play a blinder. Grab it on BBC iplayer, you won't be disappointed.

He was just ok for me . . . think it'll take me a few episodes to bond with his character.


But, I loved David Tennant in the role, so anyone taking on the part has a hard act to follow for me.

Have to agree, he's not David, but hopefully will bring something new and unique to the character. The Scottish accent is a good start, after not letting Tennant and McCoy use theirs fully.

I have to admit I'm really disappointed on two counts.

1. The new theme SUCKS beyond all belief

2. Why did they have to get political about the independence referendum...at least two references to the doctor and not voting.

On the other hand, Strax was cooler than ever, and the depute from bad education appearing as (perhaps) the villian of the first story arc.


Bring back jelly babies and adapt as the theme!!!!

We watched it this evening with a friend.
I really liked the CGI

- just enough of the budget feel to incite nostalgia.
Then came the theme tune (okay with the visuals but where the hell was the middle eight?????)
Felt more than a little bit beyond too much of a sit-com until we came closer to the end, where I hope we had a hint of how the new doctor will develop.
I shall, of course, loyally watch the series.

Many a moon has passed over rippling waters where countless fish swim since I've watched that movie. About two weeks if you aren't sure. A movie sure to cast a new light on Hairy snotter for those that aint seen it.
