it's a really difficult part of the anoxidised body, the connector recesses in so it's a 3mm rim you need to get in to. A dremmel ... I don't know what one of those are and my bloke is allergic to D.I.Y so I'm stuffed, I don't even know any handy men

But surely the point is that, be it vendor or manufacturer, the purchaser shouldn't have to resort to a 'quick buzz with a Dremel' to get their new device working!? Your dead right Andy but unfortunately they come from afar and there seems sometimes to be a language barrier. They fall into the small manufacturer, limited numbers and usually out of stock category. Having built a bit of a cult following this perhaps allows them to be a little bit sloppier than they should be with customer service. its the thin end of the wedge though if enough get faulty items, there's no one as finicky as a bunch of disgruntled vapers miniecig is a vendor on here but alas doesn't appear very often, last time I suspect was this very thread and I suspect they only appeared here as I posted the issue on ECF where they probably have a bigger market to protect. maybe worth starting a thread over on ECF too Pufz linking back to here

Surely we have some handy men on here who could help Pepperty out for the cost of postage, we do have a fair few creative mod makers on here

I'm sure if there was a tool with a sanding disk about the size of a penny that fits into the recess then that would could grind away the anoxidised circle but I don't know my tools and have no idea what sort of disk would grind away this tough coating?

Maybe you could post the pics of issue area again Pepperty to save folk searching back for them

a dremel would do the job im sure... by would should you ?? aluminium is so soft a dremel would just destroy it if you touched a bit that you shouldn't... the gap is too small to even consider it.

I quite agree but it wasn't a vendor or the manufacturer from which this item was purchased. You can't purchase an item from Joe Blogs on another forum and expect to get redress from the manufacturer for a problem with it. I'm afraid it's a case of Caveat Emptor.

ok... I don't think the seller was being dishonest.... but if he was the problem remains.... he wouldn't of anodised it himself. either way, it needs to be corrected properly.... should it really matter if its me or the original buyer asking ???? I do have the receipt. If you bought it second hand I wouldn't think you would have any come back on the original supplier or manufacturer, you'd be relying on good faith I'd think if they were willing to help you out.

I think you'll find that Pepperty's mod was brand new. Even if it was bought from a vendor and not the manufacturer, the same moral still exists. Sure, Caveat Emptor remains if it was second-hand, but this was a new device.

chykensa If you look at my posts I was addressing pufz. As an example, I have just sold a Microstick from that run that didn't have the fault, Like all the items I sell I always tell the buyer if they have any problems they shouldn't hesitate to get back to me, the item is my responsibility not the manufacturer.

Sorry @scooby, I took a break from the thread and missed that vital piece of information. I absolutely agree that when buying a secondhand item the comeback is with the previous owner of said item.
