Good plan kl34 think I'll root around my o ring collection and see if I've something that'll fit? as it's easy to undo position of 510 connector when tank changing - and I swap loads can't settle on one flavour....

Just make sure it's very thin. Otherwise, your bottom plate will be crooked.

OK... just managed to buy a brand new microstick . I came across this thread. im so glad I did because guess what, exactly the same issue. I put it all together and nothing. I went straight to the 510 connector and found anodising where it shouldn't be... I then loosened it off a quarter of a turn which made it fire but left it really loose... this is not ideal. I managed after several attempts to find a suitable oring which has tightened it up a bit and now working ok. Now my point is, why are we all having to correct a manufacturing fault ??? both of the "fixes" that has been suggested are not ideal... how long are either going to last ??? these are not cheap and not easy to get hold of. surely these should be recalled and either corrected properly or replaced with one that doesn't have this issue. I know this would take time but surely its better to have the issue permanently fixed rather than a quick fix. now the fault has been pin pointed and easy for people to see where the problem lies and the maker has accepted the fault is with the device and not user error, they really should make it their priority to get it sorted. I just expect a device of this "quality" and cost to be working out of the box. attempting to scrape the anodising off could possibly damage the threading, yet this is what we are being told to try.... just doesn't seem right to me anyway...

It is a bit dissappointing if it's still happening especially as miniecig participated in this thread and is aware of the problem. I'm sure he said the over anodising would be rectified in future batches

Agree fully, even with these fixes I don't feel mine works properly? I've owned one before and recall it being a hard hitter but my new one seems weak.
Unless I can find someone who can remove the anoxidised ring at top of screw section mine is basically unusable, as when I swoop tanks ( which I do frequently) it often loosens/ tightens connector and I have to dismantle the unit yet again...
Anyone handy who owns a lathe ???

pep an oring does tighten it up but surely if it is supposed to make contact with that bit and isn't then it must be losing some power ??

Pufz - I have just read the whole of this thread (!) and I absolutely agree with you! There is absolutely no way that I would have tolerated such an abysmal attitude from a vendor, or having to take such radical action getting a NEW item to work, albeit in an underpowered way. I think that it's quite frankly criminal that the manufacturer didn't just send another tested device out and supply a pre-paid postage for the original defective device to be returned. I can't think of any other situation where a purchaser of an expensive new item would be expected to repeatedly dismantle it to its component parts in order to get it working. Sorry if this has soured this thread, which really should be published, if only to show how not to run a business, and apologies too if all those stalwarts of the forum who assisted Pep throughout, and also Mark and the other customer from France, who all went well out of their ways to help and advise. I'm sticking with my simple tube mech mods and pray that this level of modmaker incompetence doesn't affect me in the future. I'll get my coat

I agree fully chykensa.... I have the greatest respect for everybody that helped pep out but really.... she shouldn't of had to go through that !!! a new body and a prepad envelope for the return of the damaged one is the perfect solution. I for one will not be happy until this has been sorted out. I have been after one of these for so long and when I saw a brand new one up for sale I jumped at the chance.... every review loved it.... im bitterly disappointed not only in the mod but the aftercare service from the maker. I have many different highend mods and this im sad to say is the worst customer service that I have witnessed. I hope they get their act together and sort this out properly as im sure there must be many others that have this same problem....

Surely Pufz your first port of call is the person you purchased it from? How can you lambast MiniEcig when when you didn't even buy the item from them?

mines still a £100 paperweight and I can't even sell it on as I've publicly announced its fault! joke joke - I wouldn't do that honest But I really must try and get it fixed somehow as half turning isn't giving it full contact surely? that's my thinking, it's not getting full battery power....

Looks like the seller of Pufz's wasn't as honest as you PeppertySeems like a quick buzz with a Dremel would sort it.

But surely the point is that, be it vendor or manufacturer, the purchaser shouldn't have to resort to a 'quick buzz with a Dremel' to get their new device working!?
