Hi all, I have been having a bad week or so trying to get to grips with my clearomizers. I have as follows: 2 evods 1 kanger protank mini v2 1 kanger protank mini v3 I am using them on one evod and 3 vision spinners. I am having awful problems with them spitting up the air hole and leaking into the battery. I have stripped them all down cleaned rewicked or changed the heads etc. On the evods i have double grommitted with the top grommit flipped and put a flavour wick back on and on one of them I seem to have sorted the issues but not on the other evod or the protank minis. I can’t add another grommit because of the cap thing on the tank makes it too narrow. Does anyone have suggestions as to things I can try. I am tempted to buy an aspire nautilus mini but am wondering if I am doing something wrong and will just have the same problems with that and I really could do without spending anymore money on vape stuff for a few weeks . I don’t mind cleaning, rewicking etc. but I just wish I could find something that doesn’t leak or spit, it is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance for any tips. Red

reddragon it sounds like too much liquid is getting past your wick, more flavour wick may help. Also make sure the lower grommet is pressed down firmly on the wick. If you still don't have success maybe consider buying some new heads from Virtual Vape as these are microcoils and you can rewick with cotton wool easily. CW also expands more and is easy to fluff up to ensure juice from the tank can't bypass the wick.

I would guess that you have air leaking in somewhere. When you take them apart to clean do you keep an eye on the O-rings that seal the tank once it is reassembled? Make sure everything is screwed together properly. I notice you have both dual coil tanks and single coil tanks. putting a single coil head in a dual coil tank would cause these problems as well. If you are rewicking, then both too much cotton (if that is what you are using) or too little, might cause the problems you describe, but it is unlikely. Have you changed the liquid you are using, it's possible that is the culprit too. Basically it is very difficult to tell without having eyes and hands on the atty

Thanks for that, I am rewicking with cotton wool and I will make sure that I have got enough flavour wick on them all.
How do I tell the difference between a single coil and a dual coil just by looking at them (sorry for sounding stupid!!) as I have a tub that I keep them in so they are mixed up so that could well be the problem.
I am using about 6 different liquids at the moment so it is unlikely to be that.

The dual coil heads are a little longer than the single coil, and have a larger grommet.

I have been doing some reading up on t’internet, would me drawing too hard cause the leaking (pulling too much liquid on to coil?) if so I think I may have found my problem, I am drawing too hard like I would do on a stinkie. I think I have slipped back in to vaping as I would smoke. I maybe need to think about what I am doing a bit more until it becomes second nature.

Mini Airflow control valves could help you with this. You can get them from myepack. Opening up the airflow will have the same effect as taking slower draws and help prevent flooding.

I sometimes give the peeps at work a go of mine and it never fails to gurgle when they give it back as they suck on it like a cigarette (ooh err missus) but yup slower drags is the way to go or as thatguy has said an airflow controller set to open can help and it's good if you fancy doing lung hits as it helps negate the wicking issues.

Red Save your self the hassle and try a Nautilus Mini. After you try it you will throw your other atomisers away.

i have my mum on evods and she is a complete novice in still trying to get her off the ego batts i micro coil and rewick all her tanks as well as my own protanks which are used for backups and tbh youll always get a small amount of seepage into the batts but it shouldent leek loads you dont say what your useing for a wick but if its cotton i dont use a flavor wick as this seemed to cause more probs than it solved(nothing to hold it in place as such) if im rebuilding a single coil i use a 2mm drill bit to wrap and if its the taller duel coil a 3 mm drill bit(allows more cotton to fill the longer slots)
the biggest tip to stop leeking is before you fit the head wet the wick that you can see and spread it out to fill all the gaps useing the tip of the bottle(try it with any that you have already done) hope that kinda helps

I used cotton before changing to rayon and also never used a flavour wick and don't have leakages apart from the very small amount of seepage onto the battery. I do always fluff the ends of the wick to fill the gaps hope this helps reddragon.

What VG/PG percentage eliquid do you use reddragon? You might find using one with a higher VG content would help as it wouldn't be quite so runny.

Also with the protanks check that the end of the glass tank that has the rubber seal on it goes in the top as having it the other way around may cause air to leak in. Other than that it sounds like a wick issue, and the answers above should cure the problem.
