I started with a mini Protank 2 starter kit and a Vision Spinner 1300 mah battery, which I much prefer to the non-adjustable 650 mah battery that comes with the starter kit, because it's both adjustable and lasts longer. Even so, it doesn't last me all day and I have to swap batteries to get me through the day and put the other on charge. I also have to fill my tank about 2 or 3 times a day, as it only holds 1.6ml, although I do tend to fill it past the marker so I'm probably putting 2ml in it. I find it very hard to get a decent vape out of the starter kit battery, especially outdoors, so it's a pain if that's the only battery that's charged when I need to go out but it's better than nothing when I'm at home. So I decided I should get a bigger battery and tank, so hopefully I can just fill it once a day and the tank and battery will last me all day. I've ordered this 2600mah battery www.fasttech.com/products/1824803 which is double the capacity of the Spinner, so that should do the trick. I'm not sure what tank to get though. I'm looking at these: 1.8+2.2ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006479/1760902-rg400-v2-bottom-coil-glass-clearomizer-4-0ml 1.6ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10009139/1813800-bottom-dual-coil-bdc-clearomizer-5-0ml 2.4ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10008617/1772405-t3xl-bottom-coil-clearomizer and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them, or can recommend something similar? I find I prefer the iClear16 heads, as the longer wicks seem to last longer, whereas the small wicks on the mini Protank 2 seem to get clogged up and discoloured/burnt much quicker. I have had problems with the iClear16 plastic tubes shifting out of the base though, no doubt due to being kept in my trouser pocket when I'm out. With one I was able to push it back into place and it's still usable but the other it looks like a bit has chipped off where it slots into the metal base and so it can't be fixed. I haven't had this happen with the mini Protank 2 but the glass tanks on those are designed to be replaceable (I've had to do this once after I dropped and cracked it), so even if it did get pushed out of place it would probably push back easily enough, or I could just replace the glass tube, which I'm not sure is possible with the mini Protank 2 plastic tubes. I think I prefer the warmer vape from the iClear16 anyway. So I suppose what I'm trying to say is that ideally I'd like a bigger tank that uses a head with wicks more like the iClear16 than the mini Protank 2, if such a thing exists.

dovemanI can send you an Iclear 30 if you like. An original one like the Iclear16 (many long wicks) but holds over 3ml juice. think I might have a cleaned used head. not sure. so you would need to get a pack of heads for it, (1 i think is about 2 quid.) Nice vape IMO but you canny rebuild them like a protank/ RBA/RDA (You can re wick them (and is recommended) with cotton or rayon) and the dual coil head will last for weeks so long as you don't damage it. let me know if you are interested. Ruffie.

If it was me I'd buy a Vamo V5 from FT and a couple of 2600mah batteries in the UK (you need two, use one charge one). Myepack have some good ones, I use Sony VTC5 and have had no problems. You'll need a charger too though. Maybe look at their Vamo V5 kit and ask for two 2600 mah batteries instead of one big one and one small one.
For tanks FT do an Aerotank Mega 'style' tank which is just as good as my authentic one at a great price. I too got fed up filling my mini protank 3's (I love them but they're just too small) and have never looked back from the Aerotank Mega it's just a really great tank. You'll need to buy some dual coil heads which you can get from FT as well. Best of luck.

The RG400 looks like am Aerotank clone to me - the 5ml one is a Nautilus clone - either will be OK for what you are wanting personally if its in your pocket all day I wouldn't go for the T3XL that looks cheap and fragile. On a Clover battery the Protank V2 looks like this alongside a clone PT2 on a Spinner 1600mAh - you'll need a beauty ring looks like one comes with the Nautilus clone but for some reason now with the RG400 - the rings are cheap from slowtech anyway and worth grabbing when you order. A mini Protank looks like this: The Clover battery is quite heavy and much bigger than your 1300 Spinner so I'm not sure if it's trouser pocket friendly.... depends on the pockets I suppose lol

This is where you should add "in my opinion" because in MY opinion the Mega is awful, its a pain to fill, has a very weak draw and you cant tell how much juice you have left, the standard aerotank (or FC zerotank clone) wipe the floor with it.... (in my opinion) edit.. and it would look plain stupid on a vision style battery

That 2600 mah spinner is nearly vamo-sized. Awfully big & heavy for a pocket. You could keep that (or a vamo) at home and get another 1300 spinner for out and about.
If you like the top coil then why get bottom coil? Iclear 30 at home on the 2600, iclear 16s out and about.

Do you suggest re-wicking them before first use or do you just mean that the wicks will need changing during the weeks that the head will last? I've never tried re-wicking but I'm sure I can find a thread on here to show me what to do

I figured one of the advantages with the Clover battery I ordered is that I can charge it with my existing Ego USB chargers, unless I've misunderstood, whereas the Vamo has separate removable batteries which need a special charger. I'll have a look at them though as it might not cost that much if I get it from FT, thanks for the tip. I was considering the Mega but read the review thread about that and there were mixed feelings about it, so I'm not to sure about that.

The iClear 30 or iClear30s are your best bets if you prefer the iClear 16 over the PTs. The 30 and the 16 heads are the same but the 30s heads are different in that they have a metal tube with holes that encases the head and wick. Either one will give you a similar vape to the 16 though. As for batteries, if you like the ego/spinner style of battery, then by all means go for that one, but if you get a mod like the vamo, yes, you will need separate batteries and charger, but these will be interchangable with other mods you may or may not buy in the future and you can got out with your vamo and just 1 spare battery in a small battery box and know that you have enough power to keep you going if you are unexpectedly delayed for, oh, 12 hours!

I don't think the extra width of the Clover would be a problem but it is somewhat longer than my Spinner 1300mah, although shorter than the Spinner 1600mah, plus the extra length of the bigger tank. I saw my friend recently and he'd bought a big battery and tank (which is partly what prompted me to look at upgrading), so I'll have to ask him where he carries it. I'm not getting a bumbag (not that he had one). I used to have a leather jacket with nice deep inside pockets, so maybe I'll have to treat myself to a new one

If you like the top coil then why get bottom coil? Iclear 30 at home on the 2600, iclear 16s out and about. Yeah, I am at home most of the time so I might be able to just use the Clover at home or if I'm visiting someone for the day (at the moment I have to take both batteries and a charger, otherwise I tend to end up with the Spinner, which I thought was charged, running out, having to swap to the smaller battery and not being able to charge the Spinner, so I risk both being flat when I get home) and use the 1300 spinner for my short trips out and about. It'll still help minimise how often I have to be swapping and charging. I was only looking at those particular bottom coils as I didn't see any 4-5 ml top coils but I'll give the Iclear 30 a go and see if that suffices first.

Yeah, seems like the iClear 30 might be my best bet, although if there are any 4-5 ml top coils I'd be interested in case I find the 30 is insufficient to last me a day. I was looking at the batteries with LCD readouts a while ago and thought they looked pretty cool but my friend bought one and found it so fiddly trying to work out how to adjust it (the instructions weren't very clear) I decided the manual, spinner type is less hassle. Can't adjust the wattage with them but I'm not sure that's particularly useful anyway. My friend's battery did have a standard USB port on the base though, which is handy as it means you don't have to carry a charger around, maybe a USB lead but most people I know have spare leads lying around at home. Good point about being able to just carry 1 spare battery with the vamo, that's probably easier than carrying around two spinners, so I'll think about that. I always worry about things breaking and leaving me unable to vape, so I'd have to buy two chargers to ensure I have a backup but they're probably not expensive.

A good thing about the battery tubes with LCD readouts is they tell you how much charge you have left in the battery. I wouldn't worry about Vamo (or most other mods) being fiddly working out how to adjust. If you don't get decent instructions with it just ask. They are pretty intuitive once you know what the options are.

There are advantages to the vamo cost wise as well. Once the battery has taken a beating and it's capacity falls (as it does each charge cycle) you only need to fork out a fiver or so for a new battery, not a lot more for a twist/spinner type.
On the issue of chargers, the nitecore i2,i4 are great buys. Not only will they recharge your mod batteries, they will also charge batteries for normal household use like AA AAA and C sized that most of us use for remotes/torches etc)
As for atomisers, right now I'd marry my kraken if it grew legs. Beyond that the aerotank series and protanks with airflow controllers are my choice of tanks.
Another plus of the vamo style mod is that you can buy one mod and 2 or more batteries, so you always have spares rather than forking out for a second twist/spinner.
In the end, look at all thats been discussed, and pick what you feel most comfortable with.

Speaking purely from my own experience, I would avoid the iClear 30s as though they were poisonous snakes. I have had five so far and the plastic tank not only limits your choice of gunk but also leaks. For no reason that I can think of, it seems impossible to completely rid them of the smell of juices gone by. The iClear Pyrex X1 is, I think, a much better tank, but I am just a few days into my lovely new Kanga EMOWs and they are knock-outs.
