Hi to all. I am over the moon to say ( touch Wood) that after 40 years I have stopped smoking I was introduced to vaping by my daughter and bought a starter kit, thinking oh well its worth a go. I got 2 1100 batteries and a couple of clearomisers and a selection of 10ml liquids and apart from a couple of times strong craving have not wanted a ciggie but I am going to have to drop my nicotine from 18mg as I've found out I'm a chain vaper and not to sure if all that nicotine is doing me any good. I've been sorely tempted to upgrade what I am using but am still just dipping my feet into the water so to speak so am still being baffled by all the choices and the various recommendations that are around. I am pretty much the same with the liquids although I must admit that I am now the proud? owner of goodness knows how many bottles. Am still at the stage of trying out flavours and have also been mixing ready made flavours together to see what they taste like. Have no doubt that I will end up buying more gear and more flavours before I'm finished but as an ex 40 a day a man I reckon I'm still quids in.

Hello, welcome & well done bonnieboy If you are happy with what you are using, there really isn't any need to upgrade - at least not straight away As for cutting down the e-liquid strength, as you used to smoke 40 cigs a day, 18mg isn't that high.

First of all well done. You deserve a big Right on to the other bits. Firstly how long ago did you come off the stinkies? As there will be a period of adjustment of nic levels. If you are chain vapeing I may hazard a guess that your mg is to low not to high. Maybe get a bottle or 2 of 24 mg for when those craveing really bite but use the 18 mg rest of the time. Over time you should find yourself settling on the 18. As for flavours your in good company here Ithink many of us have an abundantce of flavours we have tried stashed away in draws lol. What clearomisers do you use at the moment? As with better kit you will also get a better hit/taste. Welcome to oneof the best forums on the net .

bonnieboy - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Chrissie above has hit the nail on the head - you will need a period of average strength liquids (and those are only average, believe me!), before trying to lower your nic levels. Give it a couple of months before considering, and just enjoy the safer healthier way of getting your nicotine fix!

Hi bonnieboy . Its a good feeling when you finally know you've kicked the habbit. Try dropping down to 12mg, you probably wont even notice the drop in nic. I started on 18mg and now use 10mg, now im mixing my own liquid I might go lower as the nic is the bit that costs the most. Im just too tight to go above 10mg There is plenty to find on here that will help you spend the money you saved Everyone is helpful on here so just ask or chime in whenever you like

I've been stopped for about 4 weeks now. I was thinking about lowering the nicotine at times and using the 18mg to get my fix, I'm not sure if I chain vape to get nicotine or just because I like doing it LOL but have been getting minor headaches and am not really a great water drinker. Having been lurking and reading while waiting to join I think I may be like a lot of your members in that I just like shiny new things

bonnieboyIt's not clear that nicotine does you damage, but if you are chain vaping you may need to drink a lot of something to avoid getting the headaches (tea? beer?), and it might keep you awake at night. You could probably reduce the nic without noticing too much.

I think I may be like a lot of your members in that I just like shiny new things You're doomed, doomed I tell ya!!!! Seriously though, a very warm to the forum from me too... I wouldn't worry too much about your nic intake, it is the vaping related dehydration, rather than the nicotine, that is giving you headaches - you do really need to up your fluid intake. If it was too much nic, you would be feeling a bit woozy and queezey.

bonnieboy for getting of the stinkies. Hopefully they are already a dim and distant memory for you. A big friendly to the forum.

Hi and welcome bonnieboy, Check out the "vapefest and other meets" section of AAEC to see if you have a regular local meet up. They are great opportunity to view and a whole array of the good, the bad, and the ugly kit available. Can save you a fortune by stopping you making the wrong decision. Don't rush into upgrading your kit, their is so many different ways you can go from where you are at the moment. Hang around on here and don't be afraid to ask questions, you'll be guaranteed a helpful response. Keep up the good work!

Welcome bonnieboyI am intrigued about your comment about needing to cut down on your nicotine if you are chain vaping? 1) Maybe 18mg isn't enough for a 40 a day, unless you are telling us you smoked Silk Cut.. 2) Maybe you should go up and see if you can vape less, if that's what you want to do. I don't think it matters, but it's worth thinking about...
