Was really happy this morning when postie knocked the door & handed me my parcel from china, had great fun opening it up to find the Hana clone, Russian 91 & Kayfun lite plus I'd order from FT had finally turned up. Then when Im taking them apart I notice that the russian has an O ring on the chimney....but the Kayfun doesnt...am I right in thinking there should be one there? The kayfun has 2 chimneys (long & short) & both of them dont have O rings on them :-(....Or am I wrong & it doesnt need them ? If im right in thinking theyre supposed to be there can anyone tell me where I can get some ?....Im thinking its pointless to whinge to FT about piddly O rings & even if i did I doubt theyd send any & again if they did it would be quicker & easier for me to source some here in the UK. Its the 1700500 this one

Yep you need the chimney oring mate I'm afraid. Without it you'll be leaking like a sieve

The O ring will/should fit inside the top cap where the top of the chimney fits.

Not sure about the kayfun but the russian oring you speak of belongs in the top cap, you will see slot for it when you turn the top cap upside down. Mine does that sometimes but its easily sorted. Sorry can't help with kayfuns but I would imagine its the same set up. Those attys normally come with spare orings. Hope someone will come along with the exact size measurements.

Hi markus just had to do a check first. Double check there's no spare orings and it's not in the underside of the top cap on the kayfun. I've a few sets of spares so if it's defo missing drop me a PM and I'll get them in the post to you Monday.

I bought some Kayfun glass tank sections from Our Friends In China, but when assembled the thing leaked like an old lady's chuff (sorry old ladies). The solution was to unscrew the top of the chimney till it was nearly falling off, but the chimney lid was well and truly ensconced in the upper part of the Kayfun. It's a delight to use now, to rewick just pull the top section off and pour any remaining juice into a container, clean it in water, rewick (or recoil and rewick) and reassemble. Tip is to thoroughly wash out the glass section, then it'll sit nice and tight on the o-rings instead of popping off every fart's end.

If its the version 1 KFL, it should have the oring on the chimney
If its KFL v2 the oring is built into the top cap.
Edit: just seen the one you got from FT and its the v2 which should have an oring built into the topcap. If you look at where the chimney goes into the topcap you should see it. If its not there then it will leak.
On some v2's they are not so obvious to see. On my ehpro its pretty well hidden but on the hcigar its easy to see it.

Regarding this o'ring thing... the one that sits within the top cap and seals the chimney has a tendancy to come swell and then come adrift over time... Replace with a Viton o'ring with an internal diameter of 5mm and cross section of 1.5mm (regardless of how well you build the wick and coil, if that's degraded, it will leak). These folks came recommended when I was searching an age ago: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221133315255
