Hi guys, postie brought me a geniune kayfun lite today and I am really happy, my first build in it was a sucess, wicking so far is spot on and my grape is tasting better than ever apart from an added something done one all the usual when it arrived, soaked it in hot water and gave it a scrub with a toothbrush and fairy but after draining the tank and rewicking with a different cotton, there is definately an added something in the flavour. I am guessing that this added something is some left over from the machining process. unfortunately I only have a little battery operated 'ultra sonic', my vodka is all out and I have no isopropyl alcohol what else can I use? Can I use brandy?

Sometimes that oily taste is really hard to shift just with soaking/scrubbing. I guess you could try the brandy, sounds like a waste though... I usually just live with it as it will normally pass after a few tankfulls

Not sure I'd use brandy Mrsmac, I'd think that would leave it own residue. Milton, denture tablet oh good old bicarb would all work well followed by a good rinse in plain water.

Mrsmac - anytime Ive used it I just mix up a couple of tea spoons in some very hot water in a mug, strip down the tank or whatever (watch out for o rings) and stick it in the mug for an hour. Give it a rinse when your finished and that's it. You could give the parts a wee scrub with a toothbrush if you like.
